the lost art of used car commercials

in follow up to skellys post about car commercials i was thinking about this. Everyone knows about Josh Towbin and his classic towbin dodge commercials but he is in the minority these days. Up here we used to have laurentien Plymouth Chrysler who used to have cheerleaders and other scantilly clad women jumping up and down saying that 2525 was your winning number (it was thier address 2525 laurentien boul) Recently a ford dealer in my town had a "crush the imports" promo, bring in an import, they give you book on your trade in and if its older than 8 years they crush it in front of you. they even left 2 crushed hondas at the entrance of the lot as a warning for a week or so.

Anyone have a dealer that would club a seal to make a deal, or a salesman going INSANE on tv to sell a car

Here's our local guy, Cal and his dog Spot, it never was a dog however, and he was always gettin' into trouble with them.

Check out the cars in the background you'll see some real classics.

Old Cal has been sellin' cars forever in these parts, I think he's 90 years old by now?

I remember every one of these commercials from when I was growing up.

Enjoy.

CHOP ChoP CHOP IT!!!

I watched a doc on that place, it was fuckin awesome. Banging the gong every time a car was sold, cash bonuses to salesman for each car, crazy costumes..... it was totally a circus

There is a guy here who used to work at the local Best Buy store and now he has a used car dealership. "THEY CALL ME CRAZY-A!!!" He has gotten himself a "little person" to help with his advertisements... they are so funny!!! I wish I could You-Tube them up and show them to you!
