parents are smug.

so I have this friend that I have known since middle school...

summer 2007- she started obsessing over this guy that barely spoken any English, called her horrible names, and liked to brag about bullet wounds on his body from drug dealing.

I did not like this guy so I stopped talking to her in August of 2007.

Flash forward, May of 2009...

we are talking again. the guy runs off to Conn. and moves in with his fiance on the side two days before my friend's scheduled c-section in July of 2009. they are in a big ass custody battle over their two kids (yes, within hardly two years of her meeting the guy, she has two kids with him). Her younger child has lots of health problems... being the nice friend, last month I offered to drive her to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), expecting to spend maybe an hour or two in there. We spend four hours in there, her child is screaming the whole time, my ears are fucking killing me, it is midnight and I really want to go home. I update on facebook a sarcastic comment about there being a McDonald's in the hospital (ironic, right?). Somebody asks me about it, I comment back that I had a long night and it was boring.

Flash forward a month later... after I do all of this shit for her (drive her down, keep her company, ect), she has the nerve to bitch me out for "complaining on facebook".

Sorry, dude... wait, no I am not. Watching your child cry in a hospital bed for four hours straight is not entertaining for me! Babies do not amuse me. If they did, I would have my own, already. 22 year old females typically do not give a rat's ass about babies. Sorry.

To add to the situation, she is now obsessing over a new guy.. one that told me that he regrets spending the first year and a half of his son's life smoking crack/and or doing cocaine (I forget which one he was addicted to).

times likes this, I really loathe the fact that every female I knew from high school are single mothers.

I thought everyone's life revolved around my child WTF?

Seriously, holy shit that sucks... you were just trying to be a good friend and you got shit on. With two kids so young, where did she find the time to surf facebook anyway.

You offered to accompany a sick child and your friend to the hospital- the hell did you expect, a fun-fest?

And sorta funny that you're responding to her grousing about you griping about her on the internet by griping about her on the internet. Kudos.

Get down, girl, go 'head, get down.

She has always been damned ungrateful. I regret talking to her again :x

I did not expect four hours watching a baby cough in the hospital. Not when we both have to get up early for work/school the next day.

Friends have gone with me to the hospital to visit my sick relatives in the past. I never subjected them to being there for any longer than two hours in one sitting and would never dream of flipping out on them if they said in any capacity or on any medium that they were bored.

Conversely, my friends & boyfriend complained how boring my graduation ceremony was recently.. I did not (and would never of) gotten nasty with them because they were bored-- I was too busy being appreciative that they came out to support me in this first place.

M'bad. I did not realize it was a faux pas to complain about how parents and children annoy me on a private forum titled "Childfree"-- especially when everybody else is citing personal experiences on related matters and venting accordingly.
