I am watching Apocalypse Man, it showed this guy "hotwiring" a 80's suburban 2wd, and when he hit the RAP wire it was a beep. Thats bullshit that truck would have a buzzer, right? Then he shows using WVO, there is no way that truck is a 6.2 diesel.

its just like a buddy who works for otis, he tells me elevator shafts are NEVER as clean as they are in the movies. SPEED was the worst of them! as well in speed sandra bullock hits the lever to turn on the turn signals. in those busses by GM that lever was for the doors and most of the time the turn signals were pedals!

foreign cars used to be cake to steal.
all i needed was a flatheaded screwdriver with a 3/8" ratchet...
older GM's without PASSkey weren't bad to steal, either... you could either break the ignition cylinder out of the column (which maybe worked 2 out of 10 attempts) or pop the drivers' side of the column with a screwdriver, slam the pin out of the way and start the car without the key.
repo-ing cars and working part time at a salvage yard was very educational.

sam, the old 2 key gms also would start without keys as the keys wore down, or you could start em with the key then remove the key!

i could write a book on all the technical innacuracies in speed that's about the time i gave up trying. you miss more explody things that way

funny thing about that film i remember i bought my gm bus just a couple of months before that film came out and my first glimpse of the poster with the front nose poking out of the hellfire i just about creamed my pants. the film was great till about two hours after i walked out of the theater and finally calmed down i started picking it apart in my mind and thought man what a turd that film was. never done it since.
nostra manual trans buses and some auto trans buses like mine had the column lever you saw in the film, its a carbon copy of the one mine had. the lever youre thinking of is at the front of the side console just below the window sill. it's a big fat aluminum piece.

oh ok! lol, all the bussen we had up here had the pedal controls, i washed bussen for a company that had new looks of all pedigrees!

Every pre 1990 GM car I've owned with a square head key usually didn't even require a key. You just turned the cylinder.

i watch for the phones too, Like on cold case. They have meridian phones, problem is if the police bureau they work in is as big as they make it out to be, a meridian system would be severely undersized!
also when you see different phones from different systems in the same office. Come on!
I have to say on that front ER was pretty consistant, the 3 different phone systems used in the series were all homogenious. that fake software on CSI just bugs me
