i want the double sheave crank pulley

anyway, i ignored the "take only pictures" rule with this bus, i found it in a field near tinker AFB in OK. tracked down the owner, bought it, trucked it up here, built it from the ground up. took four years altogether. it's my daily summer driver now.

its not the first bus or even the first antique/custom vehicle ive owned but its the first bus ive built with my bare hands from start to finish and the first one ive ever felt like ive really owned. with all the other special interest cars ive owned i was always puzzled when people would ask me about it with that gleam in their eye but it was this build that made it all make sense. building a car is a lot like parenthood in that the presence of new life tends to erase the painful details and make all the effort worthwhile in the end. it's also a huge responsibility that doesnt end when the plates are slapped on: it's a huge investment of time, money and effort that must be cared for, protected and watched over that any parent, or car builder, instantly understands and you cant understand unless youve done it. and if you havent done it, go and DO it. itll change everything.

Love the bus!

My '72 BMW has a painfully long story of how I aquired it, and I don't want to think of how much time I have into her restoration. BUT, she saw the road nearly every day this past summer!

when it comes to cars, I think the 'take only pictures' rule may go flying out the window. Bandi?

Take only pictures does not apply to cars. Cars need loving homes.

End of story.

However, that green/white bus looks wicked familiar!
