Does anyone know where I could lay hands on an electronic automatic climate control unit/module for a 1995 Mercury Grand Marquis? The cheapest I could find locally was $700 and it was on back order. I haven't been able to turn one up at a junk yard yet either. It's for my mom's car. The fan control went out on it. It looks similar to this.
Now a couple people I've talked to say one from a '94 or '96 won't work, so I'm kind of stuck, and I'd like to get the heat working in it again. I've seen a few places on line that say they do rebuilds, any thoughts?

That's a good idea, I just checked, there isn't one there now, but I'll keep looking, I don't know why it cost so much for what amounts to a broken fan switch, the dealer wanted $900

Take it apart and look what's wrong on the PCB. That's what I would do. especially for 700$.

Toggle switches, relays, and heavy guage wire can be a best friend sometimes. Dunno what ya mom would think about a Nascar style dash for heater control tho. I would dig it lol.
