the porsche, its a smarter investment and has better resale value
|

$58,800 Dodge Charger SRT8 for 20g's less. $163,988 I think I'd take a 911 Turbo for 30g's less. $132,800 or lotus exige for like $85,000 or corvette ZR1 for $106,000

Whos bitching about domestics? I know i bitch about imports just as much as domestics. I dont give a poo where something is made, i just like a fine car. Comparing a Mopar product with a finely built European car is so pointless that its not even funny. Samurai with import fanboy insults in 3, 2, 1....

also does it compare the self adjusting suspension of the cayenne to that of the jeep?

yeah i'll take the twin turbo any day over the jeep, minor boost controller on those twin snails and shes a rapist. i do love that they finally produced that SRT though, its beautiful

People people people. Ya not getting it. No it doesnt have all the gizmos or gee whiz of the "fine european". What it does do is show that these are not all domestic "junk". It basically beats them at their own game. Is it modded? Hell yeah. But so is the Porsche. The point is bang for buck. And that its a fun big ass station wagon that is pretty damned quick. And yes folks, there has been alot of domestic bashing out here. I just like pointing out every now and again, you wake that sleeping giant. And they put out a quality car that can do what it needs to do, be modded and not explode, and do it for much, much less money. Thats all folks.

I'd love to see the Jeep go through the corners... might be a bit top heavy? (maybe not.. I don't know)

Oh so thats it just because you say so? The quality of materials that go into the Porsche are very high, and the price reflects it. You can compare performance of the 2 vehicles all day long, but the fact is that the Mopar product components have "made in mexico" written all over them. Cheap plastic frumpy parts car, with a hell of a nice drivetrain.

Lol, look, I'm not a gadget person. I don't care the leather came from the finest exercised cattle money could buy. I don't care if the floor mats are hand sewn by artist from the orient. What I care about is bang for buck. And sorry, Porsche don't got it in this competition. All the polish and shine means nothing, nothing in the long run. Its basically saying that porsche didn't need to jump into the SUV market. I'm sure they had all these grand dreams but they should have stuck with what they know. Good little rear engine, rear drive platforms that handle pretty well. So thats all I'm saying. Should this Jeep exist? Not really, I don't see it rolling up the Rubicon anytime soon. But its interesting. And its fun. And (the most important part when it all comes down to it) its fast. Very fast.

I agree. Comparing the Jeep to the Porsche is like comparing a cubic zirconia ring to a diamond ring of the same size and shape. Just because the CZ does the job and looks great, doesnt make it better and moe valuable than a diamond.

Ok, I may give you that. The thing is, the Jeep isn't just a CZ. It is pretty solid, and well put together. You make it sound like its under made. Its actually on par. Porsche is just over polishing it. Kinda reminds of the story of RR. They got GM trans in the 50's ( I think ) and when they opened em up saw burrs and rough edges so they polished everything because they are RR. These rough edges won't do. What did they end up with? A trans that didn't work. Did nothing. Those unrefined Americans left those hard edges and such in there for a reason. I'm just saying don't automatically assume the Porsche is made better or a superior vechicle just because it came from across the pond and cost much more. Look at it in 8 years. Then tell me how well all those fine threads are holding up.

A friend and I actually love the Jeep SRT. EDIT: I would personally take the Jeep over the Porsche. Knowing im driving something that was good for the economy, and something that i could have more fun in and worry less about, is nice.

christ you type like a jeep owner SRT is cool, but its not my style but i respect it
|

dont get me wrong Jeepdave, they made one hell of a bad ass suv, fast, looks awsome too, im just into euros. but i freaking love that jeep too
|
|
Ok, maybe I'm a little over the top here. But I was even impressed. Now when it comes down to it I don't care for the current GC. Not for off road at all (its a straight axle thing, few will understand but I have no use for IFS on a Jeep). But this is something I think fills a niche market. Family guy who wants a big fun family hauler that truley will haul. For less than Escalade money. That's nice. So don't take much of what I say to heart (I kinda like BMW's shhhhhh) and yeah, I'm a Jeep freak. Peace fellas. And happy Black Friday.
