WHY ARE YOU FILLING THIS FORUM WITH LIES?! The worst rattle traps I've ever seen are 80's Chryslers. Wow.

Posted by wannabeotaku I feel that plastics come more down to how much is spent on them than who makes them. The same company that builds the VW Beetle builds the Bentley Continental. |
I'll vouch for that... 600,000 km on my Bug and not a single squeak or rattle from the interior.
Now... the engine, well... it's sounded like it's filled with silverware since day one. I love diesel.

I've never been in a rattling mid-90's GM. My dad's 2003 Silverado rattled like crazy, though. It was a truck, so we didn't care. A work truck at that. My mom's 2007 Honda Oddy rattles pretty bad. So did her 2005 Accord. Honda chased the rattles and they killed them in the Accord, but I think they're fed up with the Oddy. I'm looking at Caravans as a replacement because no one else builds a van we like. Dad's 2007 Ridgeline is solid as a rock. He overly abuses that thing, knocked the rearview mirror off after owning it for 2 months, jack-knifed a trailer into it the morning after he bought it. Not surprised at all that your Cobalt doesn't have rattles. Every Cobalt I've seen that was in poor condition were that way because the owners just didn't care about them. BTW, every one of my 3rd gen Accords have been rattle free. The newest ones are up on 20 years old now. That's how Honda needs to build cars.

The Odyssey is interesting; I think most of problems that Honda has with it, is due to the fact its uses the Accord platform for a Minivan. If they dump that concept and created their own platform for a minivan, then I think they might have something. A Caravan is always a wise investment. Chrysler through out all its incarnations has taken good care of the Caravan brand name and its quality. There's more Caravans out on the road now hitting 200,000 miles and that goes to show you how reliable they are. I'm actually thinking of getting a Caravan again when my Isuzu Rodeo (dba Honda Passport) starts to loose life. I'm leaning towards an AWD Caravan.

my sunfire used to make obscure rattles, they would come and go, the engine used to sound like a steam locomotive since day one and yeah, if rattles bug you stay away from my sunfire.

It may be ballsy, but this is what GM needs to be saying if they want to sell cars. They should have been running these ads a LONG time ago Their interiors are pretty nice now... and getting someone to sit in a car is half-way to selling it

i agree louie, my pontiac dealer was shuttered by GM so he bought an old toyota dealer building to sell kias, well i have to say after looking at the KIA product im am incredibly impressed. 5 years ago i would have never said that. I sat in one and liked. Now it helps they are getting a lot of old pontiac dealers up here on board. until recently kia dealers up here were junky and scary, now they have some established families in car dealerships selling them

Theres also this ad, where they compare MPG ratings. Appealing to logic works in this case. More power to them if they can get people to change their preconceived notions. Its better than their old advertising campaigns which basically said "YEAH! WERE HERE WERE AMERICAN! FUCK YEAH! Like a motherfucking ROCK!" Maybe GM does have a future? http://www.youtube...atch?v=86jzopSR7hM

While I can't stand Howie... I love this commercial. Those black shirts have "THEY" printed on them in white and the guys always say things like "They say..."
"She ain't no Cinderella when she's gettin' undressed, 'cause she rocks it like the naughty Wicked Witch of the West!" -Nickelback -Shakin' Hands- "What makes bad kids bad? What makes them do the things they do? BOOZE, BABES, & BAD GUYS!" -Scum of the Earth -I Am The Scum- |
