Anyone see this yet? I hear it's supposed to be one of the scariest movies of the decade. It's only in select theatres though. luckily it's playing in the theatre right near our apartment so we're gonna go check it out tonight.

Here's some info on the movie:

Sweet, let us know! Because I won't be able to see it until dvd. Here one of the reviews from rottentomatos:

The people most scared by Paranormal Activity may be the makers of high-priced special effects, who will have to explain to studio bosses how a kid with $15,000 and one or two cameras can create such effective terror.

lol!

lolz! I don't know why, but I've always found low-budget horror more effective than big-budget.

It was good! The only thing that bothered me was the obnoxious people in the theatre that wouldn't STFU. The suspense was wonderful. No gore at all, just good 'ol a psychological thriller with an interesting WTF ending.

This is why I usually won't see movies in theaters. People suck.

I've been looking forward to this movie for a while though. My girlfriend has been trying to find it on the internet for months ever since reading a review, but since it originally had an even more limited release, we thought we never would get the chance to see it. I'm glad its getting more exposure, it sounds like it deserves it.

This was actually the first time I paid for a movie in like 4 years. I usually go to the employee screenings or go during the day or after it's been out a while. I used to work at a theatre a few years ago but they still let me in free Still the best thing is seeing a movie when the rest of the theatre is completely empty.

Lucky.

If I really want to see something in theaters I usually wait until the movie has been out for a few weeks so less people will be there.

If you're ever in the area lemme know, I'll get you in. As long as it's not the opening weekend or have too many people with me, they don't really care.

Thanks! But Jersey is way too far for me to travel just to see a movie, even if it is in a people-free theater.

On a somewhat similar note, there is an abandoned theater near me and the projectors and sound still works

I want somebody to teach me how to use them so I can watch movies in there. That would rule.

If you want the theatre to yourself (or 90% empty) go on a weeknight to an 8 or 9 o'clock showing. And go to a theatre outside of Boston Metro. Area. Just a suggestion.

I just watched Zombieland last week in the Directors Hall (only because time of the DH showing was earlier) with only 15/100 spots filled.
And saw Public Enemies the week after it was released on a Wednesday night at 10pm, we were the only two in the theatre.

So, i finally got around to seeing this movie last night and in my honest opinion i thought it was f*cking terrible! Wish i could go and get my $10 bucks back!

Oh and since when did 2 popcorns, 2 drinks and a small package of candy cost $24.25?!? Now that's just ridiculous! This is why i don't go to the movies often.

That's how the theatres make their money. When I worked there, they told me they make almost nothing from the price of tickets. Also, I never buy theatre food. Just bring your own

Yeah i figured they made most of the money from the concession stands and basically none from the actual movie tickets themselves.

I usually do bring my own goodies from the local EFADS (Everything For A Dollar Store), but i decided to get the theatre food this time. I was debating it then, and i'm regretting it now. However, sometimes with that theatre experience you need the theatre food.

I'm all about the old-school drive-in's anyways. I'd take a drive-in movie over a theatre movie anytime.

Well there's still a few in (seasonal) operation up near my way, but i dunno about down in the states. They are indeed becoming quite scarce though and it's a damn shame.
