I'm a huge fan of this guy and how he refinishes guns. He absolutely HATES do-it-yourself gun finishing products. Mac disassembles, media blasts, and refinishes firearms with first class workmanship. His prices are killer as well. I WILL be doing business with him in the future. Check out everything on his website. Its like going to school for gun finishing. http://www.shootiniron.com/index.html I love his before and after photos. http://www.shootiniron.com/PHOTOS.html
The guy is bad ass!

That's nice work. I have always done business with JD @ AIP Tactical. He's world class and still answers his own phone. Hans Vang is the same way - he'll answer your email, which is pretty damn cool considering he supplies the DEA and FBI with shotgun barrels.

These kind of guys make me want to look for ruined arms, and have them refinished. Any ideas where i can look for POS firearms?

I checked out the work on his site, and it's pretty sweet. By any chance, would anyone know what model shotgun that is? He doesn't have it listed.

That's a Remington 870.

I guess that I probably would have been able to recognize it a little better without that mod. What's up with the grip on the barrel? That's definitely not standard on any model on which I can find info.

The bolt appears to be modified or damaged but it's an 870 or a clone. Cannot imagine why you waste all the $$ refinishing a clone. Grips and stocks come in 100 flavors. Brownells and Midway both have 20 pages (literally) of stocks and grips. Go with a nice set of SpeedFeed furnishings and you won't be disappointed. I have picked up used furniture sets on GunBroker for as little as $20 for grip and stock. See: http://www.uer.ca/...d=1&threadid=71075
