Call Me Crazy!

So I was searching for more M35A2 pics on the net and came across a new species I've never seen before. That's when I fell in love and now want one ever so bad.

Like I actually need another MV to drool over, right? I've got pics and data for the M35A2, M37A1, M274, and now this.

It's the M813A1:

More here.

It's bigger than the 2.5 ton M35A2, almost as long as your average railcar, and can haul large loads with ease. But boy is she beautiful! ... Wonder if she can handle HyRail equipment?? Hrm...

Certainly is a beauty, I can say that much. How about a little history on the beast, eh? You've certainly got my attention. Come think of it, there's this house blocking my view of the valley...

How much larger than the M35 is this? It's still the M44 series I recall you saying, but if it's a 5-ton capacity, it must be a monster in comparison to the 2-ton version.

Compared to an M35A2:

Left: M813A1
Right: M35A2

(not me in the pic. sorry ... cool tent though!)

Excellent presentation of scale my good man! I thought the M35s were big, but that 813 is not joke!

Update on the conversation we were having elsewhere: One of my coworkers was raised on a farm and apparently his family had six of the M44 series at their disposal, including one of the M813 for cutting fire breaks on their property. PM me for details RailGuy.

Heh, bet you if I land a good job, I'll have one of each in my front yard by next summer: (click pic for larger image)

1968 M35A2:

1971 M813A1:

1962 M37A1:

1969 M274:

1996 M1097A2:

Then Dave and his M1009A1 will have to come up and go 4-wheeling and camping with myself, Swiffer with one of my MV's, JeepXJ with his Jeep, and a long-distant friend from WA with my other MV.

...

...

Dreams do come true ya know...
