Cars you wish were available in your country
< on 9/5/2009 11:10 PM >
Posted on Forum: UER ForumQuote
Simple as the title. What are some cars you wish would be brought to your country?

Personally:
Toyota Soarer from Japan(Which is actually sold here as a Lexus, but it's just not the same)

Holden Commodore from Australia

All I can think of right this second.

Fixed, and yes.

The GTO is an exact ripoff of the Holden Monaroo/HSV with a few different body parts.

Here's my contribution.

I actually had a RHD Soarer in the shop a few weeks ago. Loved it.

Hmm... my list would have to include the Fiat 500, VW Polo, New Beetle RSi, VW New Beetle Cabriolet TDI, VW Saverio Ute, and the Toyota Corsa GP Turbo (Turbo Tercel)

Yeah, the new GTO is just a Monaro, but I like the Commodore so much more.

And they have Soarers in Canada?! I would totally drive to Canada to get one!

Samurai: I always liked that Astra too, but figured I wouldn't bother mentioning it since the Saturn looks just like it.

Actually...Scion will be available in Canada by the end of year.

I wish GM would make a LHD version of the Holden Ute and sell it as the El Camino.

Vancouver was the test city for Scion in Canada, however those guys are importing them from the US.

over last summer (08), before the economic meltdown, my mom gets a magazine from Pontiac (she owns a G6 sedan) and one of the upcoming products was a LHD Ute that they were going to sell as the Sporttruck or something. Too bad. I think in this market that an El Camino style vehicle might actually sell if attractively packaged and priced.

I thought they came from Japan. Way overpriced here for a square Echo/novelty. The latest is nicely improved, great concept, will try to rent one in a few weeks. Seems way better than the Hyundai Soul. The Nissan Cube was bold, but it's been around since the early 90's in Japan. Arrived here last week, just a bit late to impress.

I like spacey vehicles, but they should at least handle or be good off road. The Scion probably handles okay and has visibility and room to sleep. The doors in the early ones were about 2 inches thick. Matrix is more upscale, but... New improved Scion is looking tasty.

I can't stand the fad of ugly little box SUV-things. Scion's TC is a sweet looking little car, though, and at least the Honda Element is extremely utilitarian.

Scion is interesting; its strictly a North American product from Toyota. Its supposed to get younger buyers into a Toyota product because the average age of a Toyota buyer is 54. Its somewhat working for them; the average buyer of a Scion is 39.
