i think i am going to sell my Monte Carlo... I put it on Craigslist for $1200. I found a 92 or 93 Integra coupe that caught my eye. It seemed to be in nice shape... what do you guys think? Should I stay with the W or go to the darkside and buy an old Integra? It was a 1.6L with an automatic.

I personally think you should pick something rear or all wheel drive.

You, Benedict Arnold, anti-AMERICAN fuckbag you!! I say drive what you like, you know you're gonna work on things anyway! I've said it before, I own vehicles from all over the world, they all suck the same sorry ass when they're broken!! But buy what stirs you up a little!!

Friend has an Integra with 490,000 km on the clock, still holding together well. I like them, they're fun to drive, have a great aftermarket and and pretty peppy.
hi i like cars |

I think you should get something a bit more Frankenstein-ish.

i was thinking something a little better on gas. The Monte is a bit harsh on the unleaded... even running 93 octane in it, it only averages maybe 20-24mpg... it's a heavy car for a 3.1L V6. Don't get me wrong, the Monte is VERY comfy to drive long distances and after a double shit, there is nothing better than settling into the pimp bucket seats and piloting it home, it's just all the little things that are driving me up the wall. I changed the intake gasket last weekend, you all know that... It still is leaking coolant from the same area. Doing the intake gasket was such a fucking douche, there is NO FUCKING WAY i am doing a head gasket on it. The other thing is that there is no indication the head gasket(s) have failed... the oil is still amber, even with 4000+ miles on it. The coolant is still orange, none of the milky nonsense... I am not fogging any color smoke. I'm just pissed after all that bullshit... it still needs the passenger side balljoint, the drivers' side tie-rod end, and the power steering cooler/return line still leaks where it bolts to the cradle/subframe... It's a lot of littles that add up to maybe it's time to drive something different. I'm not a big Honda fan, but the Integra has always been a spunky little car that was fun to throw around. The one I am looking at is an automatic model, but still in good shape. I don't know... i'm still up in the air.

Not a huge fan of the honda automatic. Not a bad trans mind you but the thing will feel like a totally different car with a manual. Of course doing the swap isn't all that hard. Just make sure the distributer is good and enjoy.

If you want to throw something around, try a rear wheel drive, maybe a 240SX, or a 240, 260, 280, 300Z, Maybe a Celica? Those might prove to be to old and therefore unreliable? Just suggestions, Vega, Monza, starfire? TR6? None of them real comfy however. How about any year of Riviera? the older the better!

Cavaliers command $$$ in this part of the world. Yeah, laugh. A 95-99 Cavalier coupe will run you between $1500 - 4500. 2000+ is equally stupid priced.

i don't know, Skelly... After 9 Cavaliers, i'd like something different. i was hoping for a little truck, but the prices on thrifty pickups is still retarded.

the Integra was sold. Figures... I had a guy coming to buy the Monte Carlo tonite. Had to email him and tell him that I couldn't. Makes me look like a shitheel. Oh well, the devil you know is better than the devil you don't. *edit* on the way home from taking Shael to work, the Monte Carlo decided to punish me for even THINKING about selling it... the head gaskets failed, spectacularly. So now, I am back to square one. I am looking at just shitcanning the Monte altogether and buying a Sunfire or Cavalier again, go with what you know, but no one has a manual shift coupe. Fuck a duck.

Got it!! Then the little truck route is perfect, fuel injected 4 banger, 4x4 extra cab, for added roominess.

Dude, Im looking at prices on cars in the Hudson Valley area, and i cant believe what im seeing. People want outrageous amounts of money for cars with serious issues. If you want to find something on craigslist in LA/OC/IE, id be happy to look at it and pick it up for you if you want to fly in and drive it back to NY. You could save thousands for something in 200% better condition. Ok i really just want you to come visit. LOL.
An armed society, is a polite society. So lets get to it! |

Hudson Valley isn't where Samurai is at. Try going north about 100 miles. Now if you REALLY want to save money...Oregon/Washington also has buyer-friendly used car market.
