Waiting Patiently
entry by Blackburn

I'm relatively new to urban exploration, and I am impatiently waiting out my 7-day waiting period. I ran across this site after one of my first explorations. I'm eager to share my experiences, and hopefully gain many more from this site.

To me, urban exploration is complete freedom. There are no boundaries. I've always enjoyed exploring but some of my chief influences that got me into this particular hobby are books like Roadside Picnic, its movie Stalker, and the post apocalyptic themed games S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl and Fallout 3.

There is something beautiful in the chaos of the decaying ruins of humanity.

I myself haven't had the opportunity to explore a place yet, although i have a small abandoned house scouted and ready for exploring. But i too have played the stalker games and fallout, i also have the roadside picnic book too, havent read it yet though. I do think these have sparked my interest in exploring abandoned things. Like you said there is some unique kind of beauty behind abandoned buildings and such. Happy exploring!
