Since I'm helping a friend with his ex-police car fleet of CVPIs he has at his workplace, I would say other than the infamous exploding gas tank, not really.

2100 is a decent deal for that year. Auction could either knock off 25% or go up 25%.

I'm looking to get a 2004 Impala next year.

i was looking for an impala (mostly cus as a winter beater i could use its AC in my grand prix) but around here they run about 1000-1200 more than a crown vic. as someone who has never had a ford im a little hesitant but after driving that car with that 4.6l WOW

only thing up here the licence bureau dings you 90$ more for the 4.6l "environmental charge"

Really? All the Impalas I saw for sale in yards in Ontario and everything were pretty reasonable price. Granted, I saw the most of them in Oshawa where of course is where the mothership is. Maybe you need to go to Ontario...

Please read before you buy.

Update it is the 1996-2001 that is effected. If you purchase one from those years make sure the intake manifold has already been replaced.

ps I still drive a panther platform,

The personal responsibility train left the station years ago, and you gave it the finger as you watched it leave.

a friend of mine had an older Grand Marquis with the 4.6L in it and i remember one of the heater lines running THROUGH the engine (under the intake) to the heater core... and of course it started to leak. What a nightmare that was to fix.
