Posted by nostra-YOUPPI! nismo, pick up a cheap set of guages, if you go to the p burger at walmart get a kit with 134 A (14$) and hook it to the upper valve, believe me even if your refrigerant is low it can still shoot out, the cheap guage will still tell you how much is in there. I also had a bad pressure switch in my car, i jumped it with a paperclip and the thing started. check the wiring to the AC clutch with a test light, if it doesnt come on when the switch is hit then you know its not the ac clutch.

Yes thank you backing me up Nostra! And also if you have low pressure, it won't trigger your AC clutch.

exaclty, not the ideal situation, but on used cars, when shopping, i have jumped the pressure switch to see if the clutch engages

the pressure is fine its an electrical problem

check to see if there is power at the connection to the AC compressor, If there is current, sounds like a bad AC compressor. You can hotwire a AC compressor to test it and check if its the compressor or not. Ive done it myself a few times to determine if it was electrical or the compressor.

But you don't know what the ACTUAL pressure is! you just know that gas comes out of a valve.
