My dad happened to be in the right place at the right time on this one. Was buying something for our old tractor at Autozone, the guy behind the counter said something like "Got a similar setup on my Dart", being a Mopar guy, dad asks about it...Guy said he thinks it's going to the junkyard soon. '73 Dodge Dart Swinger, slant 6, automatic. Floors and frame are undercoated and are as solid as the day it rolled off the assembly line. There's a rust through an inch up the bottom of the quarters and on the front fenders and a dent in the hood, guy said it ran when he parked it. $300.
I also think it's awesome that there was a special edition car called the "Swinger" version in the 70's.
Dad's already talking Plum Crazy Purple

Don't mind if I do kinda deal eh? Good for your dad, I'd grab at it in a second too!

these cars are getting retarded in value... my friend Donny has a Dart GTS 340... sans the engine of course. Why go Plum Crazy? Everyone with a Mopar does Plum Crazy. Go with that nitro green these came in. Especially with the Bee Stripe at the back...

That's exactly what I said, Sam. He's wanting to 318 or 340 it...But like I told him, not every collector car can be a 440 Six-Pack convertible. Even if it does have a slant 6, it's still a collector...I'd restore it right back to the way it is now.

when you start talking restoring Mopar or building Mopar V8's, man you are talking some dollars! 340's and 318's are plenty in a car that size. What about a fuel injected 360 out of a Dakota R/T?

Sweet... I love it

Slant 6's are cool those things ran until the cars rusted away around them.

my friends had a couple of cars with the old Slant 6 in them. One was a 76 or 77 Volare and the other was an 82 Dodge Mirada (find one of those still in one piece!). These cars took the worst beating you can imagine.

DAR T Swinger Awesome car, awesome price. Worth an easy 2K up here, maybe more being the 'Swinger' I'd probably keep it stock, or look stock with a 340 or other V8, and stronger suspension. Depends on your budget. The six is a great engine, and I usually kind of like collector cars how they left the factory. Not so cool when the door jams don't match the body color. Just my .02 I'm likin the tow vehicle too.

I hear you there A. Lien, I'm a bit of a purist too. My dad's got five-star American Racing rims on his '69 RoadRunner, but I keep trying to get him to put steelies with dog-dish hubcaps back on it like it would've been when it left the factory. I'd fix it right back up how it is now...Maybe change the color scheme, I'm not a huge fan of brown.
