I drove around there trying to figure out where he was supposed to have been stuck... if he was actually drunk that might explain some things because most of the drains in that area are VERY small.

Hmm, hadn't thought about that... waking up in a non-walkable drain could be *very* disconcerting. Guess I should cut the guy some slack.

I didn't realize that there was a thread for the Austin meet and greets. I got the little automated private message thing but there wasn't really much info in that. Anyway, I'm assuming that there will be another one in January?

Yeah sorry, I'm bad with updating the recurring one in advance. I'll have another one in January. Lately I've been the only one going, but I figure I'll just keep it as an appointment on my calender and if anyone wants to join on occasion then that's great

AggiePhil sent me a separate PM about having the next Meet-n-greet in College Station, which would be next Saturday, the 16th. Since it's been pretty sparse in Austin lately I figure we can give that a shot if some folks are willing to make a bit of a drive. It may be a little bit later in the day, but I should know more about time Monday or Tuesday. I'll update the event as soon as I have a location and everything. Yay field trip!

Guys, I'd really like to see a good turn out here in College Station on Saturday the 16th. I think we'll all meet up at Freebirds on Rock Prairie (Rock Prairie and Longmire) and then check out an abandoned church that I've been wanting to explore for a couple weeks now. Should be a good time for all and a way for us to put some faces with some names. I promise that it'll be worth your drive. Let me know if you have any questions or need any directions.

Badass! PM sent!

If anyone needs a ride from Austin and wants to chip in a little for gas, I have room for one in my car.
|
|
Hmm... This one is still up in the air for me at the moment. I'm already double booked for Saturday but if my thing during the day falls through (I hear we have some rain coming) I might be able to make it.

Everything that we will be doing will be comfortably indoors guys. Come on...please don't bail on me.

It's that time again! Time for me to hang out and have lunch alone and hope someone else joins me. I will, again, be going to The Parlor (Hyde Park) because I can never get enough of their pizza and it is good for a group. You will know me by the multi-colored hair. (Currently purple, pink, red, blue & black)

I might make it out there. I am supposed to go to Austin tomorrow morning but maybe I can delay my departure or stay. Will let ya know.
|
|
Me and a couple of friends talked about joining in this time around, maybe I can get them to post in here.. We shall see.
|
|
It would be nice to see new faces (or really any faces). I was thinking of doing Opal Divine's next time around followed by the La Zona Rosa tunnels, provided it isn't raining.

Apparently missed that batch, oh next time for me.
I'm perfectly fine, just as this bulb doesn't BZZT! |
|
There will be other times! I'm debating on doing it in March because it's going to be the last Saturday of SXSW, which means no parking downtown & getting through downtown is probably going to suck for anyone who might be further South. If there are some folks who think they will actually for sure make it out then I'm fine picking out a place, but if not then I'm going to skip it this month and resume in April.

Not that I'll be able to make it, but you could take a field trip to Aquarena Springs in San Marcos. The other end of the skyway ride is way cool.

Skyway is operational? Haven't been there in ages. I understand mermaid show and swimming pig are no longer part of the attraction?
Life is hard, but it's harder when you're stupid. |

I didn't say you got to the other end of the skyway in a gondola. ;)
