if my car makes an infernal clanging at low speed on the drivers side when you hit a bump, no loose balljoint, no loose tie rod, top end seems fine probably an anti rattle in the brakes eh? if i ride the brake the bang goes away

Had this happen to me before... turns out my wheel wasn't on tight. Jack it up and make sure your lugs are seated correctly and are tight, but be careful not to overtighten them.

Other possibility is wheel bearing. Easy test to see if it's a bearing is to jack it up about an inch or two off the ground, put a prybar under the wheel, one hand on top of the wheel and pull up on the prybar. If you hear/feel it click/clunk/clang when you pry up, the bearing is bad.

Last possibility: suspension is shot. Pray for the other two first.

checked the wheel, checked the wheel bearing, the noise appeared after i did the brake job and re used an anti rattle clip. Its only at low speed so my gut is saying anti rattle, gonna go and jiggle that after work

yeah that's a strong possibility. if you'd said that in the first place, I wouldn't have bothered posting that other stuff .

Make sure the front caliper is tight, with no broken or missing bolt? Beer can sometimes cause bolts to not torque properly!

Nevermind, I see now you said only at low speed.

I agree, I have a slowbalt and have taken the interior apart several times, now it rattles worse than my s15.

there will be death.

my mom has a 2007 G6 1SV sedan... not a bad car, i don't fit in it.

I've had two Cobalts:

the 2005 RS clone:

never had a problem with it in the 15 months/49,000 miles i drove it other than the CD player saying goodnight.

and I currently have a 2007 Cobalt SS/SC coupe:

that's my bad motherfucker... Only thing I've replaced were the sway bar links because where I live in NY, the roads double as a baja course.
this car has 62,000 miles on it.

The Cobalt interior is pretty decent in comparison to the G6... everything rattles in those. Everything. And the sunroof has more wind noise than a fucking yacht - and I'm not talking about the panoramic multi-piece sunroof, either. Just the normal one.

is it just the early model cars? as I said, my mom's is a 2007 1SV sedan with the 2.4L/auto and it's solid. Granted, it only has 14,000 miles on it, but still...

My Cobalt, there is only ONE thing that rattles... the sunshade for the sunroof. It's a Cobalt thing, but it doesn't rattle enough to annoy.
