. . . preferably with a weapon nearby. Some of those places are just blatantly *fucked* up beyond recall - in some ways even more so than most of the "worst" urban neighborhoods I've visited. It's difficult to describe the kind of fucked up it is, it just is. I think that it has a lot to do with alcohol, meth, and boredom, but that's just a guess.
*For the record, there is no way to accurately describe these types of places without using the word, "fucked" in the sentence...* I tried.
Odessa is a complete industrial shithole with the highest murder rate per capita in Texas but that's mostly domestic and banger murders. Compared to Port Elizabeth, parts of Philly, etc it's a complete cakewalk. However these bitches will steal anything that's not screwed into the ground in a heartbeat. Lol, I say fuck a fucking lot
Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in.
Posted by Emperor Wang Looks very classy from the air.
That's a "nice" neighborhood, go more to north or just a bit further to west to find real shit living. Game rooms everywhere there. The bangers are interspersed through that neighborhood as well though. Same in Midland which also has a big banger problem. Mommies good little sons...
In Odessa some of the worst neighborhoods are of course on the south side of the tracks. Oddly some of the older neighborhoods here remind me of bungalows on the east coast seashore. Hookers can be seen on 2nd street at times. Just a shithole industrial working town, oilfield USA. Perfect for a wayward sand rat...

Ive seen similar signs in Texas ghost towns. Even though they left the place unlocked... I won't go in. Poor devils People who breakdown on I-20 and can't recover their car that day roll a window otherwise the thieves will break glass to get in. They're pretty stupid here; sometimes they don't see the rolled down window and still break out glass. Break down in this shithole you need to stay with your ride especially after dark.
Same things I saw traveling through the desolate area between Albuquerque and Farmington New Mexico on 550. A couple of cars were in sad shape along the road.

I know about foreboding highways.
My first time driving to Chihuahua on 16, I got a few miles outside of Ojinaga and it looked the surface of Mars. I remember thinking WTF am I doing?
Where the hell do you find so many stellar examples for this thread? Edit: Are these all your photos, because if they are, you live in a very... curious region.

I travel a lot and I'm fairly observant.
I travel so much, that when I;m on vacation, I stay home.
