A certain Kirkbride, which is now nigh-impossible to get into without setting off alarms, was insanely easy to enter back in 2002. There was a fence surrounding about half of it (now it goes all the way around), with a couple of gates with locks on them, except...

Haha these are great. Our store has a tiny little gate thing on the ladder going up to the roof too. I think they overestimate our laziness

There was a largish Cave Clan reccie trip to an abandoned Coal Loading facility in the mine regions north of Sydney. We went out there, did burnouts in the old coal pits, then went for a wander around the site, encountering a few cameras on our way, which we assumed were no longer functional.
Two weeks later, another crew of CC folks went up, to discover that security had printed out screengrabs of the video footage(from cameras that were now very obviously functional), laminated them and stuck them to the sites front gates, with the text 'We can see you!' written on them in marker pen. Typically, they screengrabbed a shot of me picking my nose 
As it was in the middle of nowhere, we took the laminated images down, as souvenirs and went n re-explored the site.

One locations street side fence is tall, topped with razor wire, has climb-proof panels on its entire surface, and a guard with a CCTV monitored entrance.
The side of property facing an abandoned and overgrown lot has a rusty chain-link fence with multiple holes in it. What were they thinking?

I'm pretty sure it was a security measure.
In the old Melbourne Power Station the security firm went the hack boarding up windows, welding doors shut, placing chunky padlocks on doors, and the like.
In one section they had written in marker on one of the shutters they put up - "Cave Clan Sucks".
We presumed they did it thinking if we could still get in we'd write something or scribble it out and then they'd know we were still getting in.
I've told this story somewhere before on UER and it's a bit off-topic, but one day we were about to enter an abandoned building when we saw a security vehicle (a hatch-back) parked out the front. The security guard was inside and I could see his car alarm flashing on the dash board so I thought it would be hilarious to set his alarm off so I jumped on to the back of the car and promptly fell through the window. I was picking safety glass out of my pockets for the rest of the night.
It didn't set of the alarm.
I still try and picture the guard getting into his car and thinking, "Gee, it's a bit breezy".

A Rubbermaid trash can stuck through the wall of an empty house springs to mind. We entered by simply taking off the lid and climbing sideways through it, into the house. I suppose it acted as a "quick access latch" to the house for the owners. I don't know.
Also a creative bum that made a doggy door out of some wooden boarding. That was fun.

Lol, those all look so silly. Specially the 440 volt door trap..... simply push the door with some gloves on or kick it open with rubber boots if it was true...

I once came across a realistic "security camera" made out of a spraypainted toilet paper roll with like, a twizzler or something sticking out of it for a wire and a piece of surrand-wrap for a lense. Technology these days.

In Montreal, we have an old industrial location with a fence that doesn't go all the way around the building.

Not really a security measure anymore, but there is a site in Detroit where the chain link fence frame, and razor wire topping is there... but the chain link fence itself has long ago been removed. Was funny to see.

Not only are all these multiple locks useless because they are attached to each other, but twenty feet away there is a hole in the fence big enough to drive a car through. Another fifty feet or so from that hole is another hole the same size. There wasn't much to see in here anyway.

A lot of times, owners will have one lock on a place, connected to another lock which the FD has the key for, and the PD will have a third lock, all to allow their entry to a location in a time of need. I don't know about this location, but that's probably why there are all the different locks. Still, fun to see!
