The Ugly Car Thread

Bad shapes, poor colour choices, nauseating modifications. What turns your stomach in the motoring world?

Anyone remember that intestinal pink colour in which they used to ship the Hyundai Excel?

Well driving down to a college open house, I was extremely hungover (No sleep and Mansion Party was the day before). Well we get behind this vehicle which is driving like a complete moron.... 45MPH Zone. The guy is coasting downhill at 30MPH and is accelerating uphill at 55MPH. My mom was with me. (I'm driving because she can't find her way around Willimantic.) She says "That is the UGLIEST CAR". I saw the Toyota Emblem. I'm like "Since when do they make a 2009 Camry Hatchback?" She says "I don't think they do." I realize, "Nope. It's a Prius."

The only way it could be uglier (or gayer) is if it was a "Powder Blue Priusth"

Needless to say I passed that asshole doing about 60 when he started coasting downhill at 30MPH and my passing zone allotted it.

I HATED those when they came out... and then I drove one. My former boss has an M coupe, and I'm pretty attached to the thing now.

I have no love for the new body style of the Impreza... it looks like a Ford Focus. The previous generation with the horse collar grille was pretty fugly too.

subaru is a car company without an identity. sure awd sells their cars, but it's not like when you see a Subie, you think 'that's a Subie.'

I can spot a Subaru out of a crowd without any problems.

You are right about all the Hondas, Toyotas, and Nissans though. At a moderate distance I can't tell the difference between a Matrix and a Prius or a Maxima and an Altima or a Civic and an Accord.

The only cars with an "identity" are either iconic cars or show cars.

Do you look at a Dodge Neon and say "That's a Dodge"? Probably not. But if you look at a Superbee or Challenger or Charger or Viper or even the Diplomat. "That's a Dodge".

Back on topic:

You either Love the way it looks or hate it. But my next car (in 5-7 years from now) will probably be

Nissan 370z or the next Z model depending on what's available once I've graduated college and gotten a real job.

I plan on moving out west (Nevada?)
But I am thinking of getting a Retired Police Chevy Tahoe or Chevy Police Suburban at auction for off road use.

I was *really* hungover? And all I could distinguish from my safe following distance was the Toyota emblem. I questioned whether they released a 2009 Camry Hatchback at first. (The Matrix is a hatchback I thought it might be new model or something) Until I got close enough to see the logo.

any riced out bmw...

or any bmw modded more than slightly far past stock.

i lied. stock or mtech kits only please. rims and under the hood mods exempt.

and samuri, i really think there are company's whos cars have an identity. i maybe be a bmw fanatic, but i think bmw's surely have identity, as does Mercedes, along with some of the higher end Chrysler and a few others.

i do agree with you on the subaru matter though

I dunno, when I see a nice late 90's, early '00 Impreza WRX with a hood scoop so big it interferes with the driver's line of sight, and hear the "bwap bwap bwap bwap" it makes it idle... I think "That's a Subie"

But... the base model stuff they make really does nothing for me. They're just appliances.

Ugh... that's one of the most offensive E30's I've ever seen.

I used to have an '89 325is with the Hartge bodykit on it, it was definitely tasteful... I wish I could find a pic of that car!

That's a Subie

That's a Subie

That's a friggen awesome Subie

That's a Subie (or maybe a Fiat)

To me it seems Chrysler is the one that fails to have anything unique or interesting

I love the Brat. Love the Baja. The SVX is the sex (Half windows are the future), and the XT Coupe also kicks ass. And I do like the Forester. The Forester 2.5XT concept was cool.
