Just a thought about Christmas
< on 11/24/2008 11:58 PM >

Being a Christian myself, it kind of pisses me off when during Christmas and Easter, people pay more attention to Santa Claus and the Easter bunny than they do about jesus.

Just a thought..

But christmas isn't about jesus and the easter bunny! It's about buying stuff for people to show them you care...

Yeah. Christmas is, after all, a pagan holiday. Thanks for trying to fuck it up with your zombie god bullshit.

Skepticism is healthy. It helps you make your "faith" stronger by having to examine it. Is the skeptic stronger or the blind follower? You should question what you believe every day. REDACTED.

Jesus, Santa Claus, and the Easter Bunny all fit into the same category anyways. Who doesn't love their fictional characters?

Because I also happen to be a Sunday School teacher and a spiritual person.

Oh yeah, and an ordained minister.

Sure it does. It's all equally silly.

Now if he was an ordained scientology minister, that wouldn't count.
And I would laugh at him.
Alot.

Let me get this straight:

Jesus died, then was resurrected three days later. When he comes out of the cave, if he sees his shadow, then there is six more weeks of winter.

Where does this Santa Claus guy fit in?

It's actually a special blend of lead and melamine.

hate.

Absolutely, Tracy. It seems you have hit the head on the galileean square nail.

Consider the hate of the mythical god of abraham who hated his son so much he had him tortured and put to death.

or

the hate of paul of tarsus for menstruating women, who make everything and everyone they touch unclean.

or

the hate of islamic literalists that are ushering in the holidays in Mumbai with bombs and guns and merrily killing christian unbelievers.

or

or the hate of the christian god for his "creations" that lead him to create cancer, celine dion, and the heartbreak of psoriasis.

or

pope pious' hate for the islamic infidels that inspired the crusades to kill them all and any children that got in the way.

or

the institutional christian hate for the jews that lead to holocaust and the vatican doing nothing to stop it.

or

the hate of the christian right for the people of africa, for whom they tie aid to christian values such as abstinence only programs, or the church that opposes the use of condoms that would save millions from the HIV.

or

the hate of the jews for the palestinians, so much so that they fence them of from thier land and keep them in poverty, not to mention the hate of the palestinians who blow up the jews kids on buses.

This is the real spirit of christmas. Let's celebrate the myth of the christ's birth with decorative flood lights and musical metal detectors at the airport. Let's not forget to pig out on loads of food and laugh at all the folks who are starving because they don't have the same god.

But no haters please...

Well kids. How bout no more Jesus' flipping everyone off, eh? Might offend. As for Christmas, I am all for celebrating the birth of Jesus, that's a-ok, but December 25th is a pagan holiday. Could we maybe pick another day? Is it too late for that? If people are gonna hijack holidays from other cultures, they should also expect the non-religious feelings that will also follow along.

So I said "Why don't you shove it where the sun don't shine" and so he did. He put it in the cupboard under the stairs and it hasn't been mentioned since.
