Doing my taxes, and the taxes of my roommates, makes me feel old. It's quite, ahem, taxing.

I find it... intaxicating.

Oh crap, taking my pills for one.

Two, the building I work at now, I remember the area very well when there was nothing but farmland.

Three, talking to a delivery driver about something that happened when I was in my first year of college and he commented "I wasn't even born then" (the guy was 20 yrs old).

Four, talking with my niece about her college (she's in her second year now) and helping her with a history project.

Indeed. Pills...everyday until I'm dead.

The language used by people today. When I was growing up something was either "cool" or it was "lame".

Today it's just got to be WIN, EPIC WIN, FAIL, EPIC FAIL, SNAP, PHAT, LUL, LOLCAT, ROFLCOPTER, SICK, or BAD.

It's difficult to keep up with the bastardized language the young 'uns are using these days. I find that with brief visits to 4chan, I can familiarize myself with the lingo. They must be short visits though or I'll lose my mind.

I'm pretty sure bad went out of fashion a good decade or more ago. What ever happened to radical? Radical was, well, radical.

Right now...I'm 20 days from turning 35.

I haven't slept more than four hours a night in like 5 days, this is making me feel very very very old. 15 years ago, I could have done this standing on my head, now, I'm sitting here, waiting for afternoon to come just so I can go take a nap.

I'm having a very hard time coming to the conclusion that I'm not 20 anymore and with work, it's becoming very very very apparent. Extremely apparent and it just keeps getting worse.

I got my hair cut the other day, quite a bit of it cut off...the stylist asked me if I wanted to make an appointment for a dye job to get rid of the gray stripes I have.

Until I had my hair cut, like 8 inches off, I didn't even see the gray hair. Now, I look in the mirror and it's there, staring at me. Almost taunting me, screaming, "Get a bottle of the shit you put in your mom's hair...or else we're here for good."

It must be lack of sleep that's making me really pissed about this.

When I turned 30, nothing bothered me about it, 35 is a different story all together. The hair appointment just made it worse.

When the hell did I get old and how did I miss it?

It is just us. Most of the younger folks (yup I typed FOLKS, sign I am old) can text just short of max message before we can even read the whole text.

I am keeping every one of those grey hairs! I earned them and they are mine. Ya know like the trophies and letters earned as a teen. I worked hard for them and will display them proudly!

Yup. Shutterbug says mine looks pretty good. To me, it's tolerable. At least my hair is going like my Mom's. Gradual and not a 'harsh' grey.

I have a few white patches on my head, but people think they are blond. For me the disturbing thing is finding random black hairs popping up. Makes no sense to me.

I hear you there. I am not the kind of guy who would look good bald.
I noticed my first ones during my early 20s.

My hair's been thinning since I was in my early twenties - I'm pretty sure most of the hairs that would have been grey have fallen out instead

I fondly remember leaving a job once, and having a workmate say "When you started here, you looked like you were going to be bald in six months. Three years later, you still look like that."

Hun...you never have to worry about it falling out. That much I can tell.

I'm just mad that what I thought was going to happen to my hair, didn't. My hair used to be the same color as my late father's, reddish blonde. Instead, it darkened two shades to this dirty mousey blonde/brown color and now the gray is showing up. If it had stayed the color it was, it wouldn't show up until all of it went gray.

All I can do is wait for summer and the heat to change it to what it should be, then maybe it'll hide the stripes.

Luckily I am no no medications, have no health problems whatsoever except for the occasional flare up of bursitis, and at almost 41, have not found any grey hair. I have a couple laugh lines around the eyes but I can live with that. What makes me feel old is my daughters friends having babies! I have known these kids since they were in kindergarten and now they are becoming mothers!
sighs....

I've started getting random black hairs as well, it's weird cause I've always been blonde.

As for the gray hairs, I have lots and although my mom has always said they come in faster if you pull them, I pull them anyway.
