'HOLY JESUS' would be a good response also.

Or, as a fellow I know in NYC would say, "I'd hit that."

To all you proud moms/dads that post pics of cute little pixie daughters as toddlers, and then pics of them as young women...please take a moment to consider that men are pigs, and as such, are predisposed to rut and snort and make rude comments when we see images of beautiful young women.

Mine:
Erik, 17:
| Otto, 2 :he's adopted):
| Ben, 12:
| |
Erik is soon to be an Eagle Scout, has a wonderful girlfriend (her dad's a lawyer!) and is all around a great kid, except for the usual teenage stuff. he's also a budding urban explorer. Ben has Asperger's Syndrome, which is a form of autism. He marches to the beat of his own drummer, but has a very endearing personality. Otto is a pure-bred dachshund, and won the wiener dog race at the Oktoberfest this year, but was disqualified because we used a laser pointer for him to chase. He poops in the house occasionally.

I can see the resemblance in the eyes. Great pics.
Gone for a while. Be back when I'm back. | |
I'm so damn happy that neither one of them turned out to be an alcoholic drug head like I was at their age, I didn't wise up till I was 35 or so.

CR: You were right about the genes..beautiful offspring. And good job oon your "figuring things out" at a young age. I'm still not there I'm afraid.
If you thought my grandson was cute at 8 weeks, now he's 7 mo. check him out.

make sure you teach him to read at a young age and not those so-called kids books. Reading is the best way to supercharge a young mind.

You're so right, I was reading the local paper at 8, front page stuff. I was shocked to find that the LA Times, and the New York times did not cover my local stories, or my movie times at the local theatre. But moving on to books, Bradbury, Asimov, tolkien, Vonegutt, Michner, I think I learned way more in my reading than I ever did sitting in class, listenin' to MR Blowhard. Kurts, I see lady slayer in that grandson, great lookin' li'l guy. I know You'll get him reading like you do.

when I was a kid, I basically grew up in a library. My father is a history buff and reads non stop. Our house had thousands and thousands of books, everywhere. When I was 3.5, my parents got kind of tired of reading to me, so they taught me to read. By 4, I was reading books (not kids books, but books books)... when I attended kindergarten, I was constantly getting tossed out of class because there we were, reading these stupid "Pug" books... See Pug run, Pug can run fast, shit like that... I'm thinking, "What's Pug running from? Should we be concerned? Is Pug got rabies?" Mr. Samurai, get out... So my parents went to the school to accelerate me, challenge my overactive brain.. In 1978, that wasn't policy... so my brain withered and faded. My genius stunted.
| |
Sam, evidently you had brain cells to spare as you are still quite eloquent. (and loquacious!) I'm on top of it. If you look on the left at the bookshelf you'll see Winston Churchill's "History of the Second World War"..that's what I'll start him on. Right now he's reading the "Pug" series in honor of Sam.
CR: Your teacher's name was actually MR BLOWHARD?
| |
No the teachers name was not Mr Blowhard, I took creative license regarding that one. Kurtz, My wife raved over your grandson, said he had the sweetest face and smile. I was forced into trying to make one just like him!!! All night, I think I not only busted my spleen, but I stepped on my prostate, it either fell out, or was trying to escape... Sam, stunted or not you turned out just the way you were meant to, Smart, handsome, MEAN, and GRUMPY. He takes after his Mommy, Daddy, and Grandpas, and Great Grandpa. Kid has a long history of hot rodding behind and in front of him......

You all have some very adorable kids and grandchildren! Thanks for sharing. I feel strange in the parenting board now since my daughter is no longer a child. She now thinks she is an adult. Little does she know she will always be my baby. And yes I can wait for grand babies. This will have to do until then. The latest from graduation.
She would freak if she knew I shared. She thinks she deleted all of these. She was horrified since it was so hot on stage and her hair and make up wilted.
