|  | | | Here are a few photos of only a few of many buildings in Idlewild, just outside of Baldwin MI. It was once a huge resort town for blacks back before the anti-segragation laws. Entertainers such as BB King and Louie Armstrong performed here. All the streets are dirt. Most of the street corners all still have street signs and lights. Some of the area has had the buildings fixed up so it isn't all totally abandoned. There are even several newer houses that have been built in the area. You can Google the town and really learn more about it's history.
I have a few more photos but the wife and I plan on a return trip to take a few more.

The two motels are pretty cool, and somewhere there's a new, modern house built within the stone foundation of demolished barn. There's weird stuff there.

I got the same feeling when I passed through there coming from Ludington headed to Greenville.

Ive gone to a few places in idlewild, some houses that you swear would be abandoned and people still live there. I remember walking up to this trailer that my grampa owned many years ago and it was falling apart. as I got close the curtons moved. I got the hell out of there. I feel like everyone is watching me in that town.

|  | | | The closest we got wa that motel. We knew noone would be living there. It did seem like there were a lot more home security signs like ADT at the nicer places there this time through.
