Listen to Tiger Army's older stuff. In most people's opinions, the newer stuff kinda slides more towards pop. I also highly recommend Nekromantix, which of course was already mentioned here. Same thing for them as well, the older records were done in Europe. They didn't come to North America until signing on with Hellcat in 2002 or 2004 or something. Hellbound is definitely my favorite album of theirs.

I fucking love Charlie Feathers. And I hate that he was featured in the Kill Bill because that turned him into a one-hit wonder with a lot of people who discovered him through that film.

So i actually just noticed this thread for some reason.

I'm glad to see many, many fans of the rockabilly. Can't believe this thread sat idle for 2 years until cr400 made a comment. Nonetheless doesn't matter about that, let's talk rockabilly.

I would please ask people to share their favorite rockabilly songs or artists cause i'm always looking for new stuff. I try to listen to alot of rockabilly, but obviously it seems some come along that you've never heard before.

Anyways, hmmmmm let's try to pick some favorites....Johnny Burnette, The Everly Brothers, Gene Vincent, Bill Haley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Curtis Gordon....etc.

Don't listen to much, but I like these songs:

Three Bad Jacks - Crazy in the Head
http://www.youtube...atch?v=eoFq3ke_HYo

Nekromantix - Backstage Pass to Hell
http://www.youtube...atch?v=ux58ZAce4L0

I always try to find good new rockabilly bands, but I like stuff that's more heavy like the Nekromantix. Everything I find is too slow for my tastes.

And at last I resolved to scale that tower, fall though I might;
Since it was better to glimpse the sky and perish,
Than to live without ever beholding the day.

Hmmmmm not the biggest fan of that myself, but i appreciate good musicians regardless.

I still can't believe how much psychobilly has progressed since it first started out in the late 70's/early 80's. It went from being mixes of mostly 80's rockabilly and punk rock to early 90's mixes of everything from heavy metal to country music.

Yah, being more of a fan of hard punk, I also lean towards the harder psychobilly.

Was going to also link a nekromantix song but it's not on youtube. graveyard in your memory. oh well.
