I have been an avid reader of 2600 magazine for a good 3 years now, and a listener to off the hook. I recently attended my first 2600 meeting. It was a great experience. I was a little disappointed by the latest 2600 issue, yeah they added more pages, Like 4 more, and it got filled with a useless 2600 advertisement and 3 pages of code, which should have just been posted online, It was not worth the increase in price, Actually I for the first time feel ripped off by 2600, Oh well, shit happens. Anyway I'm a computer addict, nice too meet you.

Well, it's over a year since you posted your introduction, but I figured i'd say hi anyway. I've been reading 2600 for about 5 years now. I've listened to Off the Hook on shortwave from time to time, but I feel that listening to it online is cheating (yeah, I know..it's stupid and I have no good reason for feeling that way... *shrug*)

Been reading it for about 6 years - this forum looks dead, but figured I'd say I love the mag too! Never been to a meet, tried to go once, knew some members from online, not a whole lot exciting going on with the denver2600 group. Let me know if you're still alive, we should chill or something!

Werd. Hope was cool.

I've been reading the magazines for about 2 years, and I actually just bought their 900 page book 2 weeks ago, so far its pretty good.

Hate to revive an old thread but it looks like this whole board is dead. I've only read an issue or 2 of the mag but I have lived/loved the culture associated with it for as long as I can remember. I have been trying to get something local going for the past couple years but it seems like everyone in the SW 519/226 has lost interest It's at the point that I'm considering joining some 313/248 clubs. I know that 2600Hz is dead (unless you know the right number in Alaska), but I would think more people in SW Ontario would be into hacking "everyday life". IDK where I'm going with this post but I DO know that if anyone south of London and north of (and including) the Detroit area is still in the 2600 scene, myself and a few friends would love to meet up with you. PM me if you are active in the area. Also, for the Detroiters/Windsorites on this board, I do monitor channels 9,11,18,19 and 30 on CB. Hit me up sometime if you haven't upgraded to Amateur yet. My callsign is Meshif (pronounced "meh-sheef").

Hadn't realized the meetings were still going on. I used to subscribe back closer to the beginning, and 20 or so years ago in the days of BBSs I used to run one of the 2600 ones. Anything still going on in the Pittsburgh area?
