EAR STRETCHING!

hey! i had me ears peirced for a while. I stretched them myself !! look how i did it.

i had the gun type earring in, like a month later I put in a 14 guage barbell in.

like 3 months later(when my idea sparked in my head.) after my shower, I inserted a 16 g. barbell in with the other one still in.

a day later,i removed the 16g. barbell while inserting the 14 g. one. The put the 16g. barbell back in.

i know had threebarbells in one hole (talk about double penetration!)

now my ear is stretched to 8g. and i had no pain whatsoever, i might continue to bigger now because i bought a plug and can reuse the barbells i had in my ear.

just remember to do it when you get out of the shower, because your ear is softened by the moisture, ad vitamin e when your done just incase. and make sure that the shit you put in your ear is clean.

thanks for listenning/reading.

a good tip that i got from the guy who makes my plugs:

if you need to stretch slowly (think: bigger than half inch), you can take the plugs for the size you're already using and wrap them a few times with teflon tape. one wrap will increase the diameter by 1/100" give or take...give the plugs a few wraps until they are snug, wear 'em for a few days then repeat.

i'm at an inch in my lower lobes right now, and this tip has saved me literally hundreds of dollars in good quality tapers.

remember to take it slow, rips heal oddly and scar tissue wont stretch evenly.

I always used electric tape. It works great as long as you pull it tight.

I also recommend stretching slowly. I'm sure I've mentioned it on this board before, but I stretched too fast and had wicked blow out. Very nasty. Maybe I'll dig out the pictures of chunks of it after surgery.

heh, you know...i actually thought about electrical tape at one point...but then i grew weary after remembering that elec. tape adhesive turns into that slimy, gooey shit after a time.
i chickened out, never tried it.
good to know there's an alternative, because teflon is bioreactive and starts to degrade after about 2 weeks uninterrupted ear-time.

has the plug been in for a long time?

if so, it's probably just a minor infection, get some bactine or dial soap and apply it a couple times a day. the bactine maybe only twice a day cause it will dry it out a fair bit, the dial you can do 3-4 times a day...that should knock out anything minor.

if it hasn't been in for very long, you may just be allergic, or have an aversion to, certain flavors of acrylic...or possibly the dyes if its colored. my suggestion if thats the case, would be to put in another set of plugs of an equivalent size...though you may want to stay away from metal, as the weight may irritate the wound further....and see if the infection persists after changing the plugs and going through the cleaning regimen for a week or so.

hope i've been helpful

vitamin e shouldnt be used on opened wounds. it actually prevents it from healing. and acrylic should only be used on healed piercings because it is sensitive to fresh piercings. i like to use silicone or glass.

i work at a tattoo shop and answer stuff like this over the phone all the time.

sometimes its just because the acrylic is scratched and has little spots that can trap and hold bacteria. Also you might be having an allergic reaction to the O-ring (make sure its not touching you ear)

My ears get inflamed and pissed off when i wear most stuff (esp in the winter) but for the last year and a half i've been wearing those flexible Kaos silicone plugs and my ears have never been happier (and less gooey/gross/smelly)

^^^That shouldn't sound so hot. I'm a sick dude.

Anyway, what are the silicone plugs all about. Got any more info on them? I always had a little trouble with acrylic being more 'oozy'.

I think I'm going to restretch my ears, but this time only to about 0. Some nice jewelry looks a whole lot better than slits across my lobes and I'm at a job that doesn't care at all.

Right on. They look nice. Affordable too. Won't be so cold in the winter :)

BTW, this is why you don't stretch too fast.

I've been stretching my tragus pierces over the last few weeks. I have had them at 2 guage for like 5 years and finally decided to stretch again. I have found 'furnace glass' beads at bead stores. I took a circle template in with me (Im' a drafter) and found several that were sized between 2 and 0 guage.
