Wardriving as some may know is a term associated with driving around, looking for open wireless networks to get access to the net to, temporarily, or for more decietful activities like wiping peoples file contents, nasty, very nasty. Anyways, a cool thing, is to buy a wireless camera kit, like the one below, and hook it up to a miniature TV ($20) or a portable DVD players input, then as you drive around on your daily chores, you will start to see cameras popping up on your screen, they could be from laundromats, convenient stores, offices, peoples houses, you name it! It's really very entertaining, I found my self buring a whole tank of gas one night sniffing out signals, then marking them with a GPS... It's really quite unbelievable really.

I really should start doing that, when I have the money to do so it could be pretty interesting.

A couple friends and I did that one night. We were driving and saw on average 5-10 wireless networks per neighborhood. So out of curiosity we tried to log into the router. To our amazement, 90% of the wireless routers had the default administrative password set. So to teach these people the importance of changing those passwords, we logged in and changed the SSID of the wireless router to "changeyourpassword_1" through "changeyourpassword_10". It was a fun night of cheap entertainment. -Me!

That is as dumb as leaving your door unlocked.
Science flies you to the Moon. Religion flies you into tall buildings. |

I have often thought of doing a similar thing in a city but instead of the wireless internet, trying to locate bugs and hidden cameras that work off of the 2.5 ? Gigahertz frequency that is so popular. Has anyone ever tried this?

thousands of hours have past since the last comm on this objective, but the key is to find the hidden camera mounted by a pervert. Once you find that open 2.4ghz wireless signal coming from a place it shouldn't be. Joy will ensue for the 949 of that 904. -NOPST
