Cool, man. I'd like to see it when it's done. Is it a real Impala, or a clone? I love those cars, but they're a pain in the ass under the hood, since the windshield extends over part of the engine. I helped a friend put an LT1 out of a wrecked ImpalaSS into his '95 Caprice. Probably one of the worst wrenching experiences of my life. Can't remember how long it took, but it was way too long. In my '77 Caprice, I can (and have) pull the engine, replace gaskets or whatever, and have it in and running in under 24 hours. The frames are almost identical. There's a dent on the inside of the right front frame horn for radiator hose clearance even though it's no longer needed on the '91-'96.

it started out as a 9c1 caprice..... disc / posi rear, heavy duty suspension , all of the goodies including a rubber floor mat.....

ah yes... the much sought after cop car package... Lust Lust Lust. remember the 1LE package on the Camaros? Samurai

Sure do. And the one for the Firebirds, can't remember what it was called. My brother bought an '85 Trans Am that was junk, and a wrecked '89 Formula 350 and put the two together. They're kinda brutal cars, very unrefined, but very fun. With the 3:42 posi and a TPI 350, it was sideways on command

my friend Scott has an 89 Mustang LX 5.0L hatchback that was originally built as an Arizona highway patrol car. It was refused because for some weird reason it had a sunroof. All the front end parts are Saleen and it has a 3.27:1 rear end with a 5speed. It's brutally fast. With the State trooper cars here, they aren't worth shit when the fuzz are done with them. Samurai

Just picked up a neat little toy today... from the doors forward, it's a VW Rabbit, behind that is the engine compartment, with a 1600cc Beetle engine running a hydraulic pump for the steering, and a gearbox... Underneath it is a 4 wheel drive system (I'd say from a Scout or something) and 12" rims with BIG paddle tires (duallies on the back) Someone had a LOT of spare time on their hands... it's pretty cool, looks like a miniature Unimog. (So I've called it the "Punymogf") I'm sure it'll go damn near anywhere, can't wait to get it going. I'll post pics as soon as I get my cam back!

That may be the single weirdest thing I've seen. In quite some time at least. What're your plans with it?

There are a lot of fun trails around here, so probably play with it on those. ALthough, I think I'm popping the Beetle engine out of it (for my Beetle) and sticking a rabbit diesel engine in it or something.

Sell that to me, please.

That is one of the raddest things I've ever seen. Is it wheelable now before you swap the engine? Let us know how it performs!

that would be my version of the perfect ue vehicle. small, easy to hide, and bullet proof, and you may be able to take it where most cars can't go. putting a hayabusa engine in there, would make it wicked fast too. you could do some susp upgrades, and get offroad tires, and make it an amazing offroader. ultimate ue vehicle in my opinion.

Not only that but you could easily tip it over so that people don't suspect it!

A smart would be good. You can just push it between 2 bushes to hide it.

Agreed. I'd kill for an old Mini. Especially a right hand drive one. THe more fog lights and rally lights, the better.
