ya sorry about the confusion by posting on his name. i didnt realize it until the last post. ill get my own name soon enough.

and yes, he sure loved his 40s. he drank one here last night while i was at work before he headed home. and on his way he decided to take a picture of some trains. last week a friend of ours jumped in front of a train on the same tracks, almost same exact spot. not sure if this is why he was taking a pic or not. he will surely be missed.

Damn that's hard luck, real sorry to hear when things go that sour. The train pics sounds like something I would do to try to chill after a hard week.
For what it's worth he didn't feel any pain.

Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in.

don't know what to say... go out so young.
it's fucking wrong. we all bitch about how shitty our lives are and then someone we all know is gone and suddenly everything is put into perspective.

Suddenly, you were gone
From all the lives you left your mark upon

I remember
How we talked and drank into the misty dawn
I hear the voices

We ran by the water on the wet summer lawn
I see the footprints
I remember

I feel the way you would
I feel the way you would

Tried to believe but you know it's no good
This is something that just can't be understood

I remember
The shouts of joy skiing fast through the woods
I hear the echoes

I learned your love for life,
I feel the way that you would
I feel your presence
I remember

I feel the way you would
This just can't be understood...

Very sorry to hear of the loss of a friend to many, and a fellow explorer and photographer. I didn't have the privilege to meet him, but will think of him when exploring Detroit. My condolences to his family and friends.

No, I dropped him off at the Green Line in Oak Park, he said he'd take the train from there then either walk the rest of the distance or have someone pick him up.

I'm confused. Did the friend take a picture as the train was coming? Was Seth trying to get a similiar shot? Or did the friend commit suicide there?

Posted by dev
he had told his girlfriend and i that this was what he wanted done with his ashes. so next time youre at the studebaker plant, one of the many buildings he photographed in detroit, or an abandoned liquor store in gary a piece of him will be there.

Did he recently start talking about this? Or had he talked about it long ago? I'm just really confused. I wasn't very close to Seth, hung out with him a few times and talked to him on AIM on occasion... He was quiet, but he seemed happy, he seemed like a really great guy. I would've never thought he was suicidal, but again, I wasn't close enough to him to really know. Well no matter what really happened, he was a great guy and will truely be missed.

no, it wasnt suicide. a friend of ours committed suicide last week by jumping in front of a train. he was schizophrenic though. had some problems. seth on the other had was doing the best hes even done in life. got a great job in the city, was about to get his first new car, everything was looking up after a long long dryspell.

he didnt recently start talking about what he wanted done when he died. itd just come up in conversation over the past few years. he was very passionate about industry and its downfall and loved capturing what he could of it on film. although its against the law to dump ashes places, im sure this was part of the appeal to him. he was truely a great guy and was always true to himself and who he was.

Wow, truely sad news today. We never really talked that much but he was definatly a nice guy to chat up and always had interesting pictures and such to share. My deepest condolences go out to his family and friends. I'm glad to hear it wasn't suicide or anything like that, there's too much of that these days. Hopefully he's in a better place now and can spend the rest of time doing what he enjoyed in this life.

Can I ask, where the incident occured? Local explorers might be interested in putting flowers and what not at this area.

Wow. It hurts. Was wondering why I got no news.

I stopped in Chicago 3 weekes ago, and he showed me tons of stuff in Gary. Was a really nice guy, easy going, knew a lot about history of abandoned buildings in the region.

I just put my Gary's page online. I'll write up something for him as soon as I'm back to Europe. // http://www.forbidd...ces.be/explo53.php //

That's so sad. My condolences to his family and girlfriend.

To his cousin: got some recent pix of him when we met up in Gary, do you want me to post them? Send them to you?

Yeah I was supposed to have a beer with him when we picked up ETMJ, we were running late and it just didn't work out. Ain't that about a bitch. You know I'm gonna put back a 40 for ya man. Even though we never met in person, I still miss ya. I just wish we would have had the chance to see something. I always loved the industrial stuff. I guess we've never had to do this before and hope we never have to again, but you're in the Command now. And in the Command you'll live forever. And don't be a shitbird and drink everything before I get there. Someday we'll have that beer and you know it'll be cold as hell.

What a shame, he was one of the good guys, I was thinking that while I was reading one of his posts last week on another Forum. I thought to myself, he would be a good guy to meet one day.

I guess now I'll be meeting him in another place someday. How truly sad, rest in peace, now you explore in a different place.

today was his 24th birthday as well.
