Abandoned House #1
entry by Zack

My mom told me about an abandoned farm house. It was only a ten minute drive from my house. This time I thought it'd be best to bring a team, in case I got trapped or something. My team ended up consisting of two local friends, who I'll call John and Fred. We took Johns car to the site. Parking near it was out of the question, it'd be painfully obvious we were trespassing. John had the idea of parking at the nearby CVPS, even though it was for CVPS vehicles only. All together we had one flashlight, two digital cameras, a screwdriver, a knife, and water. The property was plainly visible from the highway, so we had to find a different approach. Behind the buildings was just forest, so we took a nearby road back a ways and approached the farmhouse from behind. It consisted of three buildings, a large main house, a smaller house on the side, and a big barn in the back.

The first thing we ran into was the barn. These buildings were old, really old. There was no paint left on them, and the things we found... There was an opening in the bottom of the barn we could see into. The whole basement area was completely cluttered with junk. Tons of old barrels, boards, bottles, furniture. I almost tripped over a cool old bottle full of some dark liquid right outside the entrance. Any one of us could have gone into the basement. It was just too cluttered, dark, and scary. This was the only opening we found on the barn, the front doors were locked.

Next we hit the main house. There was a small back part of the house with a broken window. We stuck the cameras into there and got some shots of the interior. To the right of this section there were some stone stairs leadings down to a door. I tried the door but it wouldn't budge. I could probably kick it down, but it was a perfectly scary door. While I was investigating the door, Fred found a big crack in the side of the building. It was big enough to stick a camera into. We did so, and got some of our best shots. There was a fire here. Then we heard sirens and ran. It was really just a firetruck. The smaller side-house was never investigated.
