Posted by Wabbit firebug is much more useful than just a validator. A lot of the features of webdev and firebug overlap, but it's nice to have them there. plus you can fire off functions, and check variables on the fly. You can see exactly what is being returned for ajax calls, and play with the dom.

He's learning the second tier of languages now, he's not learning AJAX or anything that advanced yet. Christ.

I love this. It's exactly what I was looking for. I've got this great mashup idea with Google Maps, and I think PHP/MySQL would be where I should start. Would MySQL would be the best thing to learn if you want to set up a social networking site? I've got the domain, brand, logo, now all I need is a little coding skills.

Once you know SQL you can code for pretty much any database software. There are subtle differences in the syntax and the available functions, but most of more common stuff is all the same. MySQL is nice because it's free. That's why I use it for all my stuff. -Me!
