Posted by KublaKhan Many years ago, a couple of friends and I checked out this old farm house in Southern Ontario. The place must have been 100 years old. There were a bunch of opened (though empty) tins of tuna laying around in one of the rooms. Someone baited the room and cornered a whole family of racoons and killed every last one of them.

Nice clean coat all black, not many strays in such good condition. I'm not CSI, but I have trouble building a scenario where a live cat gets surprised by a train and caught underneath it. Though its not hard to see how one might get placed there. I appreciate that off the beaten track there are some unusual finds, but off the beaten path are some unusual folks as well. I refuse to make judgements on a board that I am new too, but I will take this as a UE caution 101 when stepping off the path. Cheers Army Issue

I don't know enough about the train stuff - but - all the strays around here are very nice looking, but they are obviously strays in other ways (afraid of people, fight other cats, etc). It is a myth that stray cats automatically look crappy. It is the housecats that are lost who will look like crap! Or sick strays. Looking good doesn't automatically make the cat a housecat. Remember, do all wild animals look scruffy just because they are in the wild? Absolutely not. When my cat ran away once he looked like a total mess when we got him back. Fortunately someone thought his wanted poster was a yard sale sign and they read it. I've been to Ogrish (a site no longer available) and I guess yeah it could be a rail cut. L

I once found, in the old Empire Cotton Mill (Welland, ON) someone had nailed a cat to a wall. Through the eyes. The cat was alive when they did it, because you could see a lot of bloody gouges on its head when it was feebly trying to claw its way off.
I vomitted uncontrollably that night, and I still sometimes see it in my dreams.

Unfortunately that's a part of our society that has to be dealt with like everything else on a daily basis. Pity, i would like to see the same thing happen to the asshole that nailed that cat to the wall, or ram a stick of dynamite where the sun don't shine, with the fuse lit, of course.

They say "you can't judge a book by its cover!" I say "YES you can, if the cover has a girl on it with a cock in her mouth, its PORN!" if she's 18 and the cock is black, its GREAT porn! |

All these stories of cat killings reminded me of something. I've read somewhere (don't ask me where as I don't remember) that often serial killers practice on animals before they move on and try the exact same thing on humans. Pretty unsettling to think that the places we enjoy exploring might be the stalking ground of some demented psychotic. Take precautions guys and stay safe.

Everywhere we go could be the stalking ground of a sicko. Be it the mall, the parking lot or your neighborhood. We should always be at the ready.
I make love the same way I resolve arguments. With my fists. |

True enough.

This is true. The other traits are bedwetting and fire starting. SO, if you see an old mattress with yellow stains and a dead animal on it near a book of matches, get the hell out!
This is beautiful. This is art. |

Well, I LEFT a disgusting thing... Back in January, my best friend and I were exploring a quarry, and there was an old office trailer there. The axles were messed up, because the floor was heaved in places really badly. Inside we found a dis-used lavatory. Fortunately, there was no sign on the door saying "BEWARE OF THE LEOPARD!". ;) ;) ;) I left a "deposit" in the toilet! Now, this was NOT a wanton act, as I really did have to go... the toilet was relatively clean... mainly dusty, but the seat was good! I even recorded this with my camera for posterity! ;) I will be posting pics when I am a FM.

well this one isnt hardcore but a little while back i was checking out an old cemetary at night, reading the headstones when we thought we saw something laid on the ground all bloody. my mate says "is that a steak" and i was laughing because it seemed so ridiculous but yeah after getting a light on it someone had quite neatly placed two raw pieces of steak in front of one of the headstones. i never got to the bottom of it. maybe it was some sort of offering? i didnt stay too long after that and ive never been back.

Ive seen the exact same thing before. He was half hanging out of a hole in the wall closer to the ceiling. I screamed when I saw it cuz it scared the crap out of me! I cant remember if i posted this or not, but, Of all places I was going through a Tim Hortons drive through in cambridge and there was a Colostomy bag hanging from the fence.

A hot dog cart full of phlebotomy tubing and a couple of empty condom wrappers in a boarded-up train tunnel. No joke. Also, a room deep in an abandoned military bunker, empty except for a brass bowl and a very colorful pair of panties on the floor. Must've been some date.
