The Joys of a Broken Camera
entry by mayhem154

On my last excursion a few weeks ago, I notice my digital camera would not take a picture when the flash was required. I was able to turn off the flash and take pics, but this does me no good in dark areas. I never realized how much I would miss my little Minolta until it was too late. It's over 4 years old now and the good people at my local camera repair shop told me it's not feasible to repair. I'm gonna have to put her down..... Remember "Old Yeller".

So now I'm looking online at Best Buy, Circuit City, Sears, Wolf Camera, even Wal Mart(arrgh). Maybe I'll be able to find a new camera that will be as good to me my last one....

Rest in Peace... You will be missed.

So yesterday, I finally break down and get a new camera. I got a little Minolta Dimage E500, it was on closeout special at Sears. Another Minolta, I am a brand loyalist (Chevy Trucks, Craftsman Tools, Minolta Cameras) call me old fashioned, but when I find something I like, I'm a customer for life. I gave some serious thought to getting a more expensive camera, but I just couldn't justify the price. My Dad gave me his SLR with all the lenses years ago, so if I want to take any serious pictures, I'll drag it out. Honestly, I don't think I've taken a picture with it in almost 5 years. I don't go exploring to practice my photography. I go to enjoy myself, see something that is new to me and, if I think it's "photoworthy", I'll take a picture. It's not about expensive cameras, it's about having fun.......
