Google leads to various blogs.

Try something like

band blogspot
band megaupload
band rapdishare

blogspot has a tendency to lead to a bunch of stuff. Also, you will find a host of related bands and groups on said blog - great source of new musics.

Torrents mainly (Long live the P)iratebay!)
coda.fm has a neat setup, while being limited in the content. usually I just search "<album name> torrent" and get something useful.

btjunkie.org and isohunt.com are both torrent search engines that I find very useful.

I've been a huge Soulseek fan for a number of years now.....I never fail to find exactly what I'm looking for (which is tough when you listen to obscure underground metal).

www.ez-tracks.com is free & you can download up to 100 tracks free, registration is required though but is FREE.

Youtube has just about every song imaginable, copy & paste the complete URL into this site: http://www.video2mp3.net/ - then it will convert the video to mp3.

Hope this helps.

I just use google, it's probably one of the best sources of music.

Really, all that needs to be done is type in, "*band name* mediafire" and you'll tend to get what you need.

I do tend to have to request things from members of what.cd at times, too.

What.cd is hands down the best site for music.

You can get in through the interview system they have. Unless you already know a lot about encoding files, such as what these all are ,V0, V2, 320kbps, Ogg and Flac. You'll have to know what a transcode is, and beyond that if it's a good transcode. You'll need to know how to look at the spectrals of the file and be able to tell if it's a transcode from a non-lossless format. There will be some other questions also, but those are mostly general knowledge.

That might sound like a lot of work, but it really is not for what you will get out of it.

This site will tell you everything to need to know to take the test and pass.

ugh, ive been interested in what.cd since oink died. interview process? sounds like a pain in the ass -- i really dont want to have to talk to anyone about it.

also:

http://mp3db.ru/

edit: above sites are "at your own risk" and "your milage may vary" depending on your musical tastes.
