Just stretched.

So I just stretched my left earlobe from 8 to 6 guage - that went without a hitch, and it has a 5/8" diameter captive bead ring in it now. It's a little tender, as with any stretch.

Tried my right ear - it wanted absolutely nothing to do with being stretched. It's only been at 8 for about a month, so I'm gonna give it some more time. At least the CBR in that one is also 5/8".

Gotta love Tribalectic.com though... 2 very nice rings (not the shit you find in Hot Topic), 3 inch long stainless taper, Satin soap and gloves for $55.

uh, yeah.. just thought I'd share =P

Try taking a hot shower to stretch your other ear. Might work.

I tried, it's got a lot of scar tissue though. I'm just gonna leave it at 8 for a little while longer.

My left one wasn't happy with me at all the next day, but it seems okay today.

Well, finally got both in last night, go me! My right ear is still very unhappy with me, and getting some crusties, so I think I may have torn it a little bit Didn't bleed though. I'm doing hot sea salt soaks 3 times a day on both of them for the next week or two to be safe, and I'm going to wait several months until I get up to 4 guage.

Seriously considering getting some plugs now though, these rings are friggin heavy - they're 5/8" inside diameter captive bead rings. Kinda annoying hearing the beads rattling every time I move my head too.

I hate acrylic And I'm allergic to most metals except for stainless steel - so they'll either be steel or pyrex.

argh
the right one started to blow out, I wound up going back to my 8's.

Gonna wait a couple of months then try the 6's again.

Okay, I didn't wait a couple of months.

Got the 6's back in, on both sides. Pretty uneventful, though the right one has a little visible scarring from being torn. Inserted both of them with a taper, and they went in easily with no pain whatsoever.

I'll be getting glass plugs when I'm ready to go to 4 - CBR's are just too damn heavy now.

Did you put in the cbrs in your "newly" stretched piercing? You should of gotten like plugs or something instead, prob heal faster because of the weight.

Yeah I did. Haven't had any problems, they healed right up and feel like they've always been at 6 now.

4 gauge plugs now, woohoo ;)

Never going back to rings again - at least, not at large gauges. The plugs are so much lighter and more comfortable.

Maybe too quick, but 2 gauge as of this morning.

I highly recommend Kaos softwear plugs, very comfy.

you might want to try titanium if you havent already, its hypoallergenic and completely un-bioreactive, if you can tolerate steel Ti shouldnt be a problem.

also, as you pointed out, borosilicate (pyrex is a brand name) glass is also non-reactive. mebbe give some thought to organics (bone/horn/stone/amber) as well, i have had a lot of good experiences with them.

I found that the jumps were way easy because I used circular barbells all the way from 14-4 and I was done in about 2 months total, because of the weight, it slowly stretched it by itself, I can fit 2's in easily right now, and I have 4's in

I'm coming down fast, but I'm miles above you.

I'm leaving my lobes at 14 and my cartilage at 16.. mainly because I have captive ball rings too, and I cant get the cartilage one to let go to save my life. lol

A close friend of mine went from regular holes to an 8 then to a 4. then to a zero and right now he is at a double zero. He said that it hurt the next day still. he also mentioned that the "ear cheese" never stops it is constant. Its the same as regular piercings just smaller holes so not as noticable. He did all of this in just over a two month period
