The second and third pictures look like crop circles. Either way pretty weird pix.

If these were made in Southern Colorado there is a chance they were made by the Anasazi indians. The Anasazi thought the star of david and the swastika were good luck symbols. Only thing I can remember from middle school.

Yea, the second 2 I can write off as structure based. I'm not sure about the star of david in the first one though.

Mystery solved! The Captain figured it out.

They are bombing/artillery/something targets on the Fort Carson reserve.

I know - I'm disappointed too. I already had a trip planned (and will still head out that way just in case it's accessible ). I was hoping that it was some rancher that completely, totally lost it.

Looking around in the areas east of Ft. Carson is turning up some odd things though.

Yeah - 2 and 3 look like aircraft parking - see the runway off to the left? maybe an abandoned strip or a dummy one for bomb practice.

#1 - I have no idea.

I was just going to mention PBR's, but I was late in seeing this. Arizona and New Mexico are littered with them. They made berms in the shape of ships and swastikas and such during WWII. Some are still littered with bomb fragments and sometimes UXO. You find one of those babys and even I wouldn't try taking it home to show the kids. They were filled with a black powder charge and paint to mark where they hit. Although nowhere near as explosive as the real deal, it's more than enough to cut you in half. An effort has been made to clean them, but as always they always miss something.

I drink gasoline for breakfeast and beer for dinner!

The Star of David looking job in pic #1 is most probably a target, just like the others. This particular one is set up to look like a SAM (Surface to Air Missile) site, of the type used by the russians. This type was very common in Vietnam during our involvement there.

Great job on the ID by the previous poster, by the way!!!

I have changed my personal exploring ethics code. From now on it will be: "Take only aimed shots, leave only hobo corpses." Copper scrappers, meth heads and homeless beware. The Jonsered cometh among you, bringing fear and dread.

There would be no way possible to go see them if they were on fort carson, if they were targets, they would be in the impact area which is a no go zone for personnel besides EOD. But, that location is quite a ways south of our impact areas, roughly 35-40km. The sites dont seem to be on any of the fort carson training areas/reserves at all.

The first one that resembles the Star of David is meant to mimic a Soviet SA-2 Guideline SAM site. The control center/radar would be in the center with six missiles around it. The second two are also aircraft gunnery targets, you can make out old aircraft parked in the small circles around the large circle. They are all well within Ft. Carsons range area, the closest paved road looks to be about 10 miles or so to the south.

well judging by the size of the strip the could be satellite (touch and go or emergency landings) to another field and they look to be armed w/ SAM sites too.

I was going to mention something about Masonic conspiracies and how it has something to with DIA, but it's not clever enough.
