Not sure if you were speaking directly to me or not but in general yes I agree with you about communicating plans openly, didn't really think I had, I don't believe there is anything on this forum really that cynical, devious or a illegal, might as well be posting about jaywalking experiences. I would hope any enforcement would use common sense and use resources far better.
It was directed at the general readership. And generally speaking, trespassing is illegal. Especially trespassing in /on / under areas that are part of the city's infrastructure. Lurking around under the city could be interpreted in a number of ways. Read the front page of any recent newspaper for greater context.
If people want to argue safety, in my case I take no chances, I make sure I know what I'm getting into before I do it, and make sure I have the proper gear. It is certainly no more dangerous and possibly less dangerous than other widely accepted pastimes rafting down a river, skydiving, scuba diving, bungee jumping, rock climbing or boating off Victoria or for that matter walking or driving down the street above, there is always unknowns/risks in every situation.
If you're doing this solo, you're at risk. If you're doing this as a team effort, you're at risk. There are literally dozens of readily available stories...news reports...of people being asphyxiated DEAD within seconds of their feet landing on the floor of underground city works. When you go skydiving (I know this because I've done it) you sign a waiver. There is no such waiver when you trespass into city property such as the way that's been explained in these pages. So...some kid wants to explore, gets gassed, unconscious, et cetera and ends up dead. Bad news. Think about this.
If vandalism's a worry to people, I would say the vast majority of people on this forum don't participate in that such activity nor do they inspire to, I certainly have no intention to vandalize anything. The few that do it's mostly a bit of graffiti in a tunnel and is not going to upset most or cause harm these tunnels usually need a little sprucing up anyway, give the city workers something to look at when they're working, if you want people doing graffiti anywhere these tunnels are the place to let them do it, may keep them from doing it above ground.
Accessing a difficult location could well be considered vandalism, especially if access requires force.
KublaKhan I appreciate all your posts on this forum over the years, I've been watching this forum for a long time and have recently been rereading the entire forum over the past while.

Thanks. Play safe.
I agree with most of what you're saying. I would be more than willing to sign a waiver if the city would type one up, anyone would have a very hard time convincing a judge that the city/anyone is liable for any actions described.
Posted by J Peterman Tonight is Christmas Eve....I think, anyways anyone up for exploring Victoria tonight, PM me. Its perfect, barely anyone will around tonight. So its tight for popping some manholes/exploring. Come on
hey guys going to check out burrow of the beast in the next couple days (assuming I did my research properly haha) if any one wants to join me shoot me a pm
Went out with Brandon250, and his buddy tonight, both cool cats. We checked out the Fireman's Slide, slippy as shit I tell yeah. A neat Tunnel, actually pretty clean too. Not as many spiders as I originally thought there would be!

Also another very cool looking tunnel that Brandon250, his friend and I checked out. This little 1 was brick, finally some cool stuff.
we wanted to check it out earlier but there was security parked a block up on the same road + a local business still open, so we had to come back later last night.
A quick look, going to return at a later time when we are more fresh.
Hey everyone, I have been reading this forum for a few months now and have learned a lot. There is so much useful information piled in here. I have recently started exploring and searching for these amazing drains and underground creeks with Brandon250. (Also joined by artemis on one of or last adventures). We started with the hall of wonders. Which it was pretty amazing to see all the art work down there and the size of the tunnels was crazy. We then did the first half of the douglas darkie which was also cool. Next was the short but sweet fireman's slide and checked out a cool but small brick storm drain. The most recent adventure was into the Burrow of the beast. Which was by far the best one yet. Amazing brickwork and stairways built to slow waterflow. (Pictures coming soon). I have become obsessed with reading this forum and doing research to find new locations and other cool stuff to find. I am excited to see whats next and look forward to being a part of this thread.
Haha nice set of footings I swear someone stole my photo =p I took the same pic the day I poured those footings
We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained we must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory will swell when again touched, as surely they will be by the better angels of our nature.
yea I poured them,I looked in the two on the left and took a Cpl pics the one on the right was covered by a dirt ramp so we could get our trucks in. the left two are just under sidewalk storage but the right one seems to go a bit deeper by looking at those street plates

Hey Tac, long time no talk. It's cool that you're still active. I have a question for you! NinjaKlutz, and yourself were exploring buddies correct?
What ever happened to NinjaKlutz? He just 1 day as per forum decided to randomly close his account and never to be heard of again.
Makes me wonder what brought this on, if law enforcement was the case, or something else?? He invested so much time just to abruptly leave it all suddenly.
