Words of wisdom, Peterman. Words of wisdom. Couldn't have said it better myself. So...whoever fucked up their shit and left the hole uncovered, or whoever is ratting...ratting...out these locations, go fuck yourselves. Go back to your Warcraft, SIMS, or whatever. Stay inside where it's safe, and where you won't make that which we love unsafe. KK

Funny, back when I withdrew from posting things or sharing info on places because of the number of places "burned" from the stupidity of others, I got flack for it. I was being "selfish". It was just a matter of time for others to experience it, then experience it again, and again, as you lose some great locations.

Indeed. Experience trumps bravado.

Anyone up for a drive to Jordan river soon?
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too! |

OK, I'll be in Vic tommorah, if anyone wants to go. (A couple people were not able to make it, so another day).

Am I the only one that wants to see these buildings simply restored to their former glory? Ie- minimal renovations for a few condos, thus preserving the architecture, and not becoming some monstrosity?

Exactly. I'll just want to drink paint thinner every time I walk by the condo high-rises they build. It will cut out more of the skyline and give a claustrophobic tone to that area at the base of Market Square. And a little note to condo developers: Piss off.

The whole area is under the gun. The VIA station, and tracks will be removed. The Janion will be part of that "development". City counsel is in the back pocket of big money. Bought and paid for.

I'm glad I'm not around to see it. Having said that, it is worth noting that two of the people whose voices are present in Under the Garden City are now on the City Council. Wouldn't it be 'good fun' to begin a serious letter-writing campaign that advocates for the preservation of those lovely old buildings? And the Bridge? And the Janion? I'll leave this in your capable hands, Peterman.

Alright. Double whammy time. This is another: WHODUNIT AND outright evidence of the long lost and ever so illusive secret tunnels of Langford. http://www.timesco...5953343/story.html

It's a bummer that they buried a couple VERY COOL CAVES when the not-even-used-nor-fucking-finnished Bear Mountain interchange was built. Langford is a shit hole. Big box stores and suburbs. The cable theft does not surprise....easy pickings.

Illusive sewer or storm drains?
"Thieves crawled through manholes in order to steal $35,000 worth of copper wire in Langford, a sophisticated heist that B.C. Hydro says is one of the largest copper thefts on Vancouver Island. West Shore RCMP are hunting for the culprits who police believe laboured over at least three nights to haul away 770 metres of wire from a green Hydro box and underground conduits near the entrance to the Westhills development on Langford Parkway. |
Electrical conduits aren't necessarily long lost tunnels...

In this thread, when someone sees a mole hill, it's clearly evidence of a mass of satanic tunnels spanning the entire island...

I'll be headed back to Victoria in March for those who care. I'm already planning what hotel to stay at.

Posted by J Peterman All of the great spots are being sealed up. I just perused around a few of my favourite oldies on the weekend to find another prime entrance now siliconed into place. People. Are. Talking.

ive been seeing this all over town, at least to three of my known locations, its terrible victoria has some of the best "tunnels" in my opinion but not many so this is tragic.

Quite right. And when one spots a wee hooded elf in full-body camo, two-way communication gear, laser-guided 18 million candle flashlights, grappling hook, crampons and night vision goggles, it's clearly evidence that there's an impossibly inaccessible door that needs to be blown off its hinges. Or simply opened by way of twisting the knob and pushing said door ajar.
