Infiltration

Oh man, I can't possibly remember everything, so I'll just share some highlights.
One time, I was exploring a new tunnel with my friend Jeremy. I crawled under some old boards and squeezed into a hole. While I slithered, I noticed out of the corner of my eye, in the unreal light of my LED headlamp, movement. I focused my eyes on the ground directly in front of my face to see thousands of tiny maggots squirming in the mud! I couldn't exactly run away in the position I was in, so I just laid there admiring their existence.
Another time, D_Wrex and I decided to pop a bunch of random manholes. While on our mission, we found one that was in a great location (out of sight from anyone). Actually, there was a homeless person's camp close by, so we thought maybe this manhole led to his stash of gold and diamonds. We were just gonna look at them and not steal anything, so we opened it up and went down. The first main passage we came to branched off into three directions after about 40 feet. Each of these tunnels were larger than the first and they all headed in the general direction of downtown Minneapolis at slightly different angles. We chose the middle one. The architecture was magnificent! All in brick, the passage had domed ceilings that repeated every 15 feet or so. In each dome, the bricks formed patterns that would have to have been done by a dedicated artist. It's a shame that work like this is never seen by anyone.

Of course, we didn't really find anything very good, but I'm hoping to find something like that this summer!
I can't remember anything better than the maggots.
