Infiltration

Adam_Zelotes, D_Wrex, Martin, and myself went to do an elevator/silo complex we'd (usually individually) scouted a number of times in the distant past. This is hilarious - we scaled the outside of the main structure to a semi-open window with fresh pigeon poop smearing us as we squeezed through. Then, we had to climb down a sharp, rusty window grate before dropping a few more feet to the dusty cement. Almost immediately we noticed a door that was open that we could have walked into with the greatest of ease. We're so professional! Adam made the guess that the main elevator was the equivalent of about 15 stories - pretty damn high! That was actually our main goal - the roof. We packed along our cameras and tripods to make the trip even more worth it. Along the way to the top, there were various landings - all of which had interesting features. There was also a "man-lift", which was essentially a large belt with hand holds and foot holds that went straight up and down the complex to allow workers to move up and down the floors quickly. It was actually very unsafe-looking! There didn't seem to be any safety features at all. The roof yielded the most breath-taking view of a certain downtown that I'd ever seen before!! Photographs were instantly being taken.
We had enough time before I had to go to work to show Adam and Martin the "1930's theater" that D_Wrex and myself had recently found our way into. Unfortunately, I had already run out of film at this point, but I've found that simply being involved in an exploration makes me extremely happy - even if I'm learning nothing from the experience. I swear, this isn't a hobby to me - it's a second life!
