Surgery/ Implants..

Surgery is another body modification! Would you guys ever do it, or have you done it already? Would I ever do it... no, but do I want to do it yes. I want a star implant in the middle of my chest but would never hae the guts to do it. Watching it on the Discovery Health channel sickens me... I can barely watch it!

Branding isn't bad. It sears out any nerve endings so its only a brief pain at first. Upkeep sucks though.

Burning flesh smells really bad. More tattoo-like branding can be accomplished with a cautery(sp?) pen.

Fuck, I had a doctor try to put one of those through my fingernail to relieve pressure from hitting it. That shit hurts!

Don't know why I just posted that. Now you all know about my cautery pen experience.

There was a lady in Minneapolis who was a piercer who was expanding into other body mods. Jamie Ross was her name. She did 3 of my pierces. She had several subdermal implants. Last I heard, she was jailed because she was subleasing (to someone else) the apartment above her shop (Bionic Laboratory) and in this apartment was the largest meth lab bust in either the state or the country, I can't remember which. Closed down a few blocks of Uptown while they cleaned it up. You can still see and hear her on a video and other pic(s) at the Science Museum. This was several years ago. I wish I knew what happened to her...

Where in the science museum. Whatever the exhibit is it sounds interesting.

I hope it's still there...
There's a main stairway (at the bottom is the cafe). On the second floor, if you walk straight away from the stairs, there was (hopefully is) a display about body types and differences in people (little people, elderly, children, body builders, tall people, I think there's a bit about ethnicity, there might be a picture of the Enigma (that guy with blue puzzle pieces tattooed all over his body...and subdermally implanted 'horns') and you can sit down in front of a monitor, push a few buttons, and see a video of Jamie talking about piercing and stuff.

Does that sound familiar?

Yeah. It was still there last time I went, though it's been a while. I'll have to go and look for the video.

Actually it depends how far people go with it , a radical in either direction is always bad .. so claimed vegans vs druggies .. Just like body moding , Branding is actually not done as much people have changed over to skin carving ( basically taking off the first layer of skin with a scalp , basically | | cuts and removing the piece in the middle ) ..

As for implants , you have people who gets horns etc but to be honest the only people who will have these are making their money where they are not in contact with general public ( unless the phone ) ..

I dumped one of my gf's for getting her tongue split and some other things which annoyed me. There are much better ways to set yourself aside from people or stand out, it is for attention , it is for "looks" . The only reason I have anything done is because i am a agoraphobe , at least when i go in public i know what they are looking at rather than just plain me. Welcomed unwanted attention for my own security.

I have spent alot of money getting tat's removed after just blacking everything out, money to get implants removed professionally . Before you decide todo anything drastic even if its as something as gauging your ears above 1 inch. think before you do it , because in alot of cases you getting that done could just be as stupid as getting your first bf's gf's initials or name on you.

lol. Yeah tongue splitting looks cool and looks extremely painful. Oh man when it's at the first few stages of healing it looks so disgusting haha! I asked my piercer how much a tongue split is and he was $800. I want to get it, but then I don't. Maybe if I had the guts to do it, I probably would.

I've heard you can take monofilament line (fishing line) and loop it through an existing pierce, tighten frequently (weekly? daily?) and you've got a split tongue. I was thinking about doing that between 2 existing tongue pierces, but have yet to find the time I want to live with a swollen, painful tongue.

Yeah, I think the best way to get your tongue split is to have multiple tongue piercings and then to cut between them, it would probably heal faster too.

...or you could get it done professionally done by someone who can do a laser split instead of a scalpel split. virtually -zero- healing time, quick procedure, and very hygienic.

i'm a nurse and some of my patients have surgery and implants.
ex: a women i had this week had a face lift, botox, lip fat implant, breast lifting and implants.

she is 70 years old.
i talked for a bit with her doctor, he showed me pictures of here before the surgery, she wasn't that bad... he told me something to think about. He said, as a surgeon, i prefer making a 70 year old happy then making a perfect 25 year old uglyer.

Branding is so weird/awesome; I know a guy named Blair who does this stuff for a living in Toronto; he did a sweet scarification on my housemate Sarah's back/shoulders...

his site is www.byblair.com

I'll get some pics of Sarah's design to post. The stuff seems really cool, but I don't think I'd ever have it done.
