i never got the concept of 'counting' tattoos. that only works if all you get are those random $50/pop tattoos randomly scattered about your body. those of us with sleeves/etc arent really able to 'count' them. i mean, hell, do i count each individual knuckle, too? HAHA if so, there's 8 alone right there HAHA

i recently got the AFL-CIO "Stand With Wisconsin" Wisconsin/fist logo tattooed on my sideribs, making it my second tattoo. it looks a little blotchy but after it scabbed the color was even. I participated in many of the anti-Scott-Walker protests in Madison and felt it was a huge landmark not only for me but for Wisconsin and the Civil Rights Movement as well. My violin teacher, who's moving away soon and who i've become good friends with, joined me both in the protests and in getting this tattoo. : ]

Well what else do we use to compare? I'm not sitting down and calculating my percentage covered.

i think it's kind of like a measuring cup, unless you have individual tattoos you can count on different places, like counting tablespoons or something, you just say "quarter sleeve" or "chestpiece" and that's like saying "cup" or "pint". it's this preconceived measurement of space covered, and is mostly referred to as one piece.
...i guess.

i guess i just never understood the need to keep track of stuff like that. mine are all very visible, so no one has really asked me "how many tattoos do you have?"

Ah. With the exception of summer time, I keep most of mine covered. Only 2 small ones are on my arms. Cause I have a calf sleeve and my feet tattooed. Not to mention my tattoo no one can see unless i show then. My lip tattoo.
I often get asked how many do i have after people see my arm, depending on my mood, my answers range from "a few more" to "more then my mom likes" or "thats it", or "11".
I'm not looking for a way to brag, just wondering how to quantify well.
And I hate the money question from strangers. This is my hobby, your hobby is blowing money at the bar or on your car. Go away.

i looked at him and said, "only degenerates and killers get tattoos" and then looked at him all crazy-like.
he walked away nervously

That's amazing.
I work retail and some asshole was ragging on me about how my leg looks diseased. And how his son has a skin disease, so he's an expert. After thanking him a few times for his opinon and telling him where the door is (I was a working self checkouts at the time) I got nasty. I told him that he was more of a burden on the health care system because he was morbidly obese. ANd then he STILL was chirping me so I told him "you are now tresspassing on private propery, ENJOY YOUR FAT SACS SIR".
The best is that he picks on all the cashiers at that store for various things. And now when they see hiim come into the store the entire store radios around "Mr Fat Sacks is here".

That is the HD that I would usually go to since it was near my place. I used to live just off Nebraska near Sligh Ave. I would have loved to see that dude's reaction! LoL!!!
btw, The Castle = most awesome club evar. I ALWAYS go whenever I can get down there.
