Posted by zombielicious I ended up getting my smiley piercing.... and got rid of it 2 weeks later. It was relaly bothering my gums when I wore a horseshoe barbell. My next mod will be my first tattoo in May.

a smiley is the piercing of the web of skin in front of your lower teeth. I used to have a frownie, which is the piercing of the web of skin in front of your upper teeth. They're quite bad for your gums, as my dentist told me. I started having damage on my gums from it, so I took it out. I haven't worn jewellry in it for 4 months and its still open!

SMILEY
FROWNIE
The richness I achieve comes from Nature, the source of my inspiration. |

I want to get an upper arm band of the tread pattern of a rally tire... think it'd be very cool, unique, and it definitely would suit what I do. Also thought about getting the shift pattern diagram of my '72 VW Beetle on my right shoulder.

Posted by cerebral back to the original topic: I used to have a rook pierce which didn't take kindly to being stretched to 6 guage and started growing out. The cartilage is torn (as is the cartilage at my tragus pierces [2 guage]) so I found a piercer who found a place with enough cartilage to hold a new rook pierce in the same ear. ...at 8 guage! :^) next issue...$$$

I shoved a little (16ga?) ring through the old rook hole and have been wearing it for several months now. I think it'll not grow out if I don't stretch it, so I think I'll keep it. I've been thinking about a big horizontal hole in my upper conch (flat). I believe I've seen it in the Masai tribe of Africa. definitely more of a "wish list" than an actual plan. May put jewelry back in my frenum holes (one's grown over...there'll be blood) and back in my apadravya (the top hole shrunk quite a bit, but I know it's still open if you know what I mean). My wife got a tattoo gun, so I got my first tattoo. It's on the back of my left leg from a couple of inches below my knee to an inch above my ankle. It's blackwork cave-drawing style of an African deer-like creature representing our adopted son. It's mostly finished, the quality is kind of spotty, so she'll be giving my lots of free touch ups. related wishlist (actual plan): She'll be doing a similar, yet subtly different one on my right calf representing our adopted daughter. Sometime in the hopefully not too distant future ($$$) I'll go to a professional and get the Patchwork Girl from the Wizard of Oz series on my right shoulder/arm representing our birth daughter and the patches can be flags/tartans/mini-images representing all sorts of things I haven't finalized yet. Then a professional (or maybe my wife) can do a raven/blackbird image from Marion Zimmer Bradley's book The Forest House on my left shoulder facing forward and one on my wife's right shoulder facing backward (by me or a professional). More wish than plan would be a cartoon version of a cross between old Sinead O'Conner and new Joan Jett. Bald muscular girl, tank top shirt, rolled up jeans, combat boots representing my inner riot grrrl...heheh. Another dream is actually a dream of my wife's of a back/body piece for me. A giant squid with tentacles wrapping around my legs, arms and torso. Probably not going to happen, but not ruled out.
Drains, tunnels, bridges and caves mostly. This ain't the land of the free. This ain't the home of the brave. -accidentally misquoted MDC...leaving it this way on purpose |

Current: right nostril, two lobes on both ears, tragus on left ear, cartilage on right ear. two tattoos, one upper back, one left ribcage. Retired: none Wishlist: medusa. has anyone had any problems with the back of the labret rubbing against the gums too hard? i figure when i pierce it, i'd go with a bioplast/bioflex labret so it doesn't rub as roughly.
