about that ear stretching , i removed mine a year ago and decided to get something big again yesterday , i got some big (16-10ga) round shaped tip needle at Bouclair (sewing shop in Mtl) . So i started by puting a 16ga needle in my ear and then add another and another again till i puted them all .... well i got my hole back to 8ga in 30min.
Just clean all the needle in alcool , rinse them and then put something to lubricate before inserting in your ear .
Takes only few min and cost about 2$ .

Just a bit of advice. Stretching too fast can lead to "blow out." Nasty skin coming out the back of the piercing. Trust me, I know.

Secondly, while for stretching it's probably not as big a deal, alcohol does not properly sterilize anything. You should boil any jewelry or needles before piercing, preferably in a pressure cooker. Adding salt raises boiling temp as well. Obviously this isn't possible with acrylic stuff so I recommend piercing and stretching with stainless as both open up the wound. (stretching will crack the skin if sone too quickly) This is not only a good way to get an infection, but also is just inviting hepetitus.

AHH! nononono. Stretching like that can cause rips. If you have to do it on your own, the piercing company cold steel has some great ring tapers that you keep in place with rubber. now, I stress: To do it right without blowing out, ripping or severely Kelioiding your ear only go 1 step every 2 weeks. THat's 14-12-10-8-6-4-2-0 etc. That's only if your body can handle it. My friend adam didn't listen, got blown out and now his earlobe is so badly keloided it looks like a fleshy golfball.

Yay I got my other navel piercing that I mentioned before. Well I had to take out my inverse because when I went to the piercing shop, I realized if I want a big gem in my belly I would have to take out my inverse, it's not a big deal to me anyways. It's nice having a piercing and then taking it out and coming out with something new. I was actually surprised it didn't hurt because I had it previously done last summer and I took it out because it looked like it was rejecting and I developed scar tissue. I thought it was going to hurt like a bitch but it turned out nice. They pierced it properly this time thank God... it ain't shallow like last time. Well I'm happy, that's all I have to say!

I had my septum done while in Mexico. It's a little crooked and I have to take the balls off to flip it up every day for work, but I like it. Soon I'll be done with this job and I can leave this one visible, restretch my ears, and put a hole or 2 in my lip again.

I also managed to push myself over the fear of letting someone else pierce me.

I don't know really... like money I guess. And my mom would prefer that I not get it because I'm 15, she is pretty open with the non-facial ones. But anyways, how was the pain for it, how long did it take to heal and how did you clean it?

I had it done for only $50 US. Though I think around $80 is more common.

I actually only had it done 2 days ago so I'm not sure on healing, but aside from a TINY bit of crustyness it almost seems healed already. It only hurts if it gets hit really hard so it's apparently healing well. (I'm going sledding with tons of people tonight so I'm predicting lots of hitting it hard)

As for pain. It hurt more than any other piercing I've had, but it was still tolerable. Not to the point that I jerked or anything like that. You tear up pretty bad, because your nose is connected to tear ducts, but the only parts that hurt are clipping your nose with the foreceps and actually putting the needle through. A minute after it didn't hurt at all.

I've been soaking it in salt water a few times a day (fill a cup and stick your nose in). I also piked up some neosporin to put on it. I clean around it with a cotton swab. Anything with bacitracin in it works for this, though I have never used it for any other piercings. Your nose is a bit dirty.

It is a facial piercing so no help with that part. On top of that it's not a commonly accepted one. The one bonus is you can flip it up inside your nose and it's barely visible. So for occasions where piercings won't fly it's very easy to hide.

I only cleaned mine with saline and cotton swabs, but it's different for everyone.

Also i'd recommend waiting at least 2 weeks before flipping it up.

LOL, I had to flip it up a day and a half after getting it pierced. Fortunately I don't work again until monday so I can let it be until then.

I have always used saline and it's worked fine for me. This piercer thought saline sounded kind of harsh and seemed to have never heard of people using it. He just recommended the bacitracin. I just figure I'll use both and be on the safe side.

so um, what do you guys do with the gigantic holes in your ears/chins/noses/eyebrows/ mainly the gigantic streched ear lobes... once you plan to get a job?

"ooh, ooh! i want the lawyer with th streched-out ear lobes! that looks professional!!!!" i mean.... really. legit question. do you wear bandaids for the rest of your life, continue streching them until youre 90, or just hang around trying to lead your adult life with pencil-holders in your lobes?

If you don't stretch too big they do shrink up pretty small. I can still fit a bic pen in mine, but people almost never even notice that there are holes, because the hole is barely visible.

Yeah as long as you don't rip the whole, the piercing should close to a normal size after taking it out. so if you do want to look professional you could always take it out.

Start where you're at and add a layer of electrical tape every day. It'll be back to the right size in no time.

Of course you could have just done it right and pierced at 8 gauge to begin with...

I don't know about electrical tape, but teflon tape is something I've used. It's super thin, so you can be very gradual with it.
Otherwise, I just waited until it was well healed at a size and used a taper. The first time I stretched, I had it done by a pro...once. The rest I did myself.
For well healed pierces, particularly ear lobes, you can get really creative making your own stretching jewelry out of femo or sculpy clay. It's not overly sterile, so take it easy stretching, but it is a fun way to stretch.
Again, depending on the pierce, you can take out the jewelry you have in and put in 2 smaller pieces that, when put together, are larger than the one you took out. For instance, take out 8ga and insert two 10ga pieces or 10 and 12, or three 12's, etc.
