Pretty simple, films with a UE theme or featuring UE locations or just generally of extra interest to urban explorers. My list: Alligator 1 & 2 Dark Days The Hole The Bunker Session 9 CHUD 1 & 2 Mimic Delicatessen The Third Man THEM! The Day They Robbed the Bank of England Quartermass and the Pit That's off the top of my head. I've seen about half of these so far. I'm sure there are tons more. P.S.: I just remembered another one because I'm watching it right now. Duh. The original Dick Tracey Republic serial seems to feature an abandonned something or other in nearly every episode. Seems that evil masterminds can't think of anything better than abandonned power plants and abandonned hotels and abandonned mines as places to mount their evil schemes from.

I always thought that the Mines of Moria in Lord of the Rings would be the ultimate UE location.
Buildings have two natural enemies- water, and bears. |
|
one of the best UE films of all time was a cheap Bobby Carradine movie called "Wavelength"... it has tunnels, abandoned military bases, aliens... it's got it all! Try to find this movie... good luck! Samurai

Finally...a thread about UE movies on the movies board of a UE site! I thought this would happen much sooner, and actually stopped by to ask if anyone knew of some. Now it'll be much easier to come to a decision when my non-exploration-motivated girlfriend and I go to the movie store with no clue what we want to rent. Thanks for the list, KAOS!
I want to be different. But I want to be different just like everybody else, because if I really were different, everybody would think I was crazy and weird. Iowa is Minnesota's bitch. There's an art to pooping. |

There was a thread somewhere like half a year ago.

I always associated Old abandoned buildings to cyberpunk style sci-fi as soon as i knew about cyberpunk. So this has less to do with UE and more with the images you see in those movies of abandoned places / dark urban settings. The running man Total recall Robocop 1 (dont remember the others, i... wonder why) Johnny mnemonic Blade runner A boy and his dog Escape from New York Judgement night (haha) 12 Monkeys

do you know how few people remember that movie? "A Boy And His Dog" is beyond cult... it's a really awesome movie. Samurai

Of course! What could be a better premise than a young Don Johnson and a talking dog wandering the country looking for women to rape? I've never really understood why people like that movie at all.

it's hard to explain... it's really dark, yes, but there is a, i don't know, humor (?) to it... i've been looking for this movie for a long time. By the way, that really bad movie with Bruce Willis and Matt Perry "The Whole 9 Yards"... was that filmed in Montreal. There is a part where they torch a Toyota and I swear that is Silo Number 5 in Montreal. Anyways Samurai

LOL its the same reason why i like Day after tomorrow, the story is completely out the window, i just like to look at the images, the setting. Ill agree with you that its a terrible movie, but its still got interesting imagery
