Witnessing

Does anyone here try to spread the word in any form? I have never thought about it until recently, and it is something that I would like to tell people about, but don't really know how. The closest thing I have done so far is starting this forum....

Is witnessing a vital part of Christianity, and if so, what are the best ways to go about it?

So I said "Why don't you shove it where the sun don't shine" and so he did. He put it in the cupboard under the stairs and it hasn't been mentioned since.

Well, I would say that sharing the Christian faith is one of the key components of the faith seeing how Christ told us to go and spread the word throughout the nations. Personally, I witness by using my actions to speak for myself rather than words unless its on here where I cannot act what I believe. I really don't like approaching people off the street and just simply using the Hell and Brimstone technique that so many people use as it really turns off people and gives a bad rap to Christians.

Promise Keeper's has a catch phrase relating to this. Witness every day to the people around you with your life, and only when nessescary use words. I think that is a good approach to it.

That is my take as well. I don’t believe that I am called to witness at any a higher level than the average Joe, but I do make an effort to make an impact upon those I’m close to.

The Lord will come to everyone somehow, and He is just.

Is this like knocking on people's door at supper time to tell them about Jesus and God and Salvation™ and Grace and Mercy and Leading the Faithful into Heaven and so forth?

Not necessarily. I witness to lots of people every Monday. All I do is give them a hot plate of nourishing food, and a place to go where no one judges them. Maybe some warm clothes to wear. It is *in* a church, but no one pressures them about Jesus if they don't want to speak about him.

Well put and it's a lot easier spreading the word by setting an example. Treat others the way you want to be treated, help where you can. Speaks a lot louder than standing on some street corner or knocking on doors.

I like to Witness people taking off their clothes through their bedroom windows.
