Years ago, when I ventured alone into the colossal remains of a Soviet aircraft carrier, I was profoundly struck by its imposing presence. Subsequent visits with close friends only deepened my fascination, as each expedition revealed something new and unexpected. From its origins in the Soviet Union to its final resting place by the banks of the Yangtze River, this leviathan has captivated my imagination...

Holy shit, I have so many questions. Is this still around? Were you the one who posted it on insta a few months back? Did you get any trouble from the Russians like the guy who found the famous shuttle did? This is incredible, thanks so much for sharing!
"Sorry, I didn't know I'm not supposed to be here," he said, knowing full well he wasn't supposed to be there. |

Superb.

Surprised the Russians didnt ask for it back to put it into service again.

I'm not sure how Russians might feel, but it was quite distressing for many former servicemen and residents of Minsk when they saw the reports. After all, people have emotions, especially since the ship is named after their city. Come along and see for yourself, Jon. I'll take you around.

I was able to find out a bit of information about it, and it does sound like a pretty sad story. Unfortunately I don't feel safe about going to China these days, after one of my friends was taken hostage for a couple years because he shared information about North Korea.

China's now one of the safest places globally. When you're here, we'll steer clear of any active military spots and keep politics off the table. China's open to all urban explorers. Let me swing by and pick you up. We'll cruise around. Remember Nic? Yeah, it's been over a decade since he came around, and I showed him the ropes.

It is not safe if the government can connect you to certain people such as its political hostages. I don't want to risk it.

Great exploit! On one hand, a gov't may want to track you down & prosecute/penalize you, but on the other-hand, doing that just increases publicity, and thus their embarrassment.
After exploring, I woulda sunk-it, just for "I'm the guy that individually sunk a soviet aircraft carrier" bragging-rights. /-/ooligan
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people. |

Absolutely an insane find! What a mad lad.
