Urbex Victoria?
< on 11/23/2023 8:32 AM >

Hey, pretty new to the uer online community but I was wondering if there's anyone still active on here in Victoria or the surrounding areas that wants to do some rooftopping, draining, or exploring of any kind. I have a bunch of places I'm scoping out and was wondering if anyone wanted to join me. I'm thinking of doing a few trips up island as well, for something like Jordan river or anything else I can uncover that hasn't been completely discovered already.

Yep, there are a few of us around.

I like the underground, so if you want some company in a drain, mine, etc let me know. We've lost a few good spots recently, but there are plenty left.

Victoria has really low evening tides coming up next week-ish, which makes a few spots more accessible than they normally are.

Definitely! I haven't done any drains/mines yet, but I am aware of a few and was planning to explore some of the old mines around Nanimo at some point in the future as well

I'm not really familiar with Nanaimo area, but most of the mines there were coal I believe, and those can be riskier. They're usually "soft rock" mines which can release more gas than hard rock mines like copper. I'd definitely suggest bringing a gas metre.

Yep I heard that from another one of the threads about the island but I have a few friends up in that area that have explored some of the mines there so they know about all the safety equipment needed

I'm in Victoria and would be interested in checking out some sites. I've been meaning to check out the old school on Keating Cross.

Yeah, I was looking at that a few nights ago and that might be interesting, let me know when your gonna pop by there because I might want to tag along if that's OK. I was also thinking of checking out the recently closed Dennys but its location makes it a bit hard

A couple but no pics yet. It's hard cause alot of them are locked and I haven't learnt how to pick locks yet. I'm planning to take a few friends up to another crane on Saturday so if it works out I'll post those pics as well
